Last weekend a few of us loveable losers were asked to be trail guides at the Ranch for the Great American Crawl. It was a great time no doubt.
@StretchASU @tobaccoroad4wd @CasterTroy @Mulishajoe @jeepin' jen
Figured I'd start a post with pics and videos. Here is one from a couple I guided on day 1

Had a great group each day. Dooder in the white JL was super cool. It was a bone stock 392 on 37s and skidded. He did great
Other guy had a CLEAN 1 ton JK and was really experienced.
Day 2 @StretchASU and I London Bridged 😜 the group and I was trail sweep. We had an awesome group of riders. Super cool people and good rigs

There will be so many more. Of the 381 rigs, there was at LEAST 30 YouTubers documenting every second with a selfie stick. Recording, rerecording...etc

I honestly took fewer pics and video than I ever have. I was wheeling and enjoying the ride too much. I actually ran thru honey hole 7 different ways while waiting on the group to catch up. And even after that I ran it 2 other ways.

That Willy's looks badass

It is. Willy’s tub but everything else from scratch. 4.3/4L60/4:1 300 and narrowed 60’s. It went like a sob. Some 37 stickies instead of the 36’s and it will be perfect. And by the time he got done picking the small feeble brains of @Jody Treadway and I, we realized we should have been talking to him about how to build shit 😂

You went through everything so freaking fast, I dont think I got any pics of you on the trails 🤦‍♀️

Did they have a Jeep barrel race? Looks like a good time.

Yes sir. Lots of rollovers. Several videos online of that...I'll try to find some

Met the hoodlums at The Flying J :huggy:

We dropped off the rigs and headed right for some margarita globes and good times :beer:

Headed back to the Air BnB and sat around on ginormous couches and had numerous cold snacks, then the MC arrived and graced us with his presence

Got up and scarfed down some awesome breakfast casserole that the ladies had prepared the night before and loaded the coolers for an epic day on the trails.

Rolling into the ranch this was the OVERFLOW camping

Keep in mind, these camp sites were 2 deep in that field.

Below is the video of the ride up from the parking lot, thru registration to the lineup

As SOON as I got to the entry and was receiving my assignment....I shut my rig off to hear, and it never started again :dumbass: Montie pulled up right beside of me and offered to tow mw out of the way and into some shade for some troubleshooting.

IMG_20250808_102759813.jpg

Montie helped me troubleshoot for a while, then set out himself. I took the hood and dash apart trying to trace wiring, and thought it was the starter. I began removing the starter and realized the driveshaft had to come off. I got a little frustrated and decided to just load up and fix all this in the shop at home. So I walked to the truck and brought the truck and trailer to the buggy and loaded it up.
I sent a txt and told everyone the issue and that I was leaving, and Jen immediately responded "No you're NOT...Joe and I will be right there!!!" :gtfo:

Within minutes the electrical Guru had traced the problem to a wire on the starter that had corroded JUST enough to not get contact, but not enough to fall off. Once fixed I was back in business!! This was about the time JHo had come to the parking lot to fix a locker issue with someone in his groups JK
So I fell in with them

We hit cripple creek and had to wait for some youtubers to film numerous failures before we just walked on thru.

Once done with cripple creek we went up and back down wolverine. But in the middle another rig had an issue (alternator) and had to wait for our amazing support team to run a jump box (and trail snacks) to us

After that we loaded up and headed out for Italian

The next morning after ANOTHER great casserole we repeated the same lineup. This time I took a few pics.

Our group went immediately to the honey hole

I went up an entrance that I've wanted to go in for a while, but after watching Derek get denied in his 4ws buggy, I didn't want to waste time on. It was a cake walk.

But others struggled with the assignment when they decided to run off script....

From the honey hole we hit Jackhammer. That was fun...especially since 976,542 folks were next door on Rubicon

From there we ventured over to Bourbon street and had some fun

Did the squeeze and back down to Chadilack, where we had some opportunities

We finished out Chadilack and then fox hole and that inner loop at Hoffas Playground, then back to meet up with Jody and Stretch. For a short run up rubicon

After that we got in line for the veterans dinner. But after staring at this for 40 minutes and not moving,

Casey and I decided to bail and eat leftovers, get the dust off us, and relax a bit at the Air BnB

That’s hilarious. Most of the YouTube wheelers seem to have so much fabricated drama

Damn I would have smoked some meat. But I was too busy traveling to hang out with my friends that didn’t invite me
Ninja, you woulda had to take a boat and two planes to get BACK to your rig to tow it to the ranch
