Actually, although technically Ride the Lightning was out, it had been out.
Metallica's current album at the time was And Justice for All.
And "One" was huge.

between the buried and me...
BT.BAM....Thats what the close followers call them.
I know one of the guitarist's father. I think the players name is Dustin..or Dusty or something. His dad works here in Mocksville. They are getting kinda big, from what his dad says. Sound cool too. His dad played a little at a job site for us. Thats cool to see btbam mentioned on here.
And a local boy rippin' it up in the big world!
You aren't a sellout Ricky. By definition you have to have something to begin with in order to sellout. I believe the word you were looking for was "sheep".![]()
And "One" was huge.

And I remember when Forsyth's finest, Swift, was playing holes-in-the-wall, too. It's good to see some people still doing it, though.
I had a coulple of their songs on a random CD and loved it. Never could catch them playing somewhere.
I have an unscratched copy of 5xdown "deaf to the sound". That was (and still is to me) an amazing CD to never "make it big". I remember when they opened up for Jimmies Chicken Shack once and they kinda ruined the show for them. I always got a kick out of a local band wrapping the line to get in to Tremont around the parking lot.
yeah, that was my time zone of music! Remember the Screaming Trees?the name of some of those bands just make me not want to listen to them....im more into the 90's alternative rock...you know stone temple piolets, pearl jam, alice in chains, oasis...stuff like that...like certain singers in country...other than that..its 95.7 the ride for me![]()
I've seen them mentioned already a couple of times...
There's slayer.
And then there's everyone else.
I like mostly older stuff, some of the new stuff I like, some not so much. I've heard BTBAM's recent stuff is good, I remember that back around 'aspirations' they had real potential, but were still pretty derivative. I've heard job for a cowboy and I didn't think much of them.
On the playlist the past couple of days:
Sabbath
Slayer
COC
The Sword
Mastodon
Baroness
Motorhead
yeah, that was wild. Everyone that was there was allowed to go under the shelter,i guess thats the gold circle thing. What a blast, and 7 mary 3 rocked Cumbersome fo sho!I was at the 1st weenie, couldn't believe how empty the place was. I still have that t-shirt and ticket stub for some wierd reason. 7M3 had the best performance by far. The singer is living in Chapel Hill last I heard.
Anybody ever see any shows at the RITZ in Charlotte? We had some hellacious times there.
I think Testament was the last show I saw there - maybe 1989?Anybody ever see any shows at the RITZ in Charlotte? We had some hellacious times there.
I really like Hellyeah.
Alchohaulin Ass is one of the most kickass, hard rockin songs I've heard come out in a while. I have a hard time gettin that one out of my head after I've heard it.
