Heavy metal

I've contributed to the delinquency of a minor. I loaded up my 11yo son's MP3 with AC/DC, Metallica, SOD, COC, Megadeth. He's now a big fan of AC/DC and Metallica.

between the buried and me...
BT.BAM....Thats what the close followers call them.
I know one of the guitarist's father. I think the players name is Dustin..or Dusty or something. His dad works here in Mocksville. They are getting kinda big, from what his dad says. Sound cool too. His dad played a little at a job site for us. Thats cool to see btbam mentioned on here.
And a local boy rippin' it up in the big world!

BTBAM is one of my favorites, and i actually happen to be wearing the shirt right now

others include, but are not limited to

HeavyHeavyLowLow
Fear before the march of flames
The jonbenet
the number 12 looks like you

i think heavy is decided by who's listening. I like some heavy stuff like

NIN
tool
hellyeah/mudvayne
system of a down
static X

i still consider these mostly heavy. Some people may not but ehhhh oh well. this is mostly what i play if im not hitting the ole school country up

smile empty soul
flyleaf
40 below summer < just found out about them not to long ago and love it!<
deftones
crossfade
alexisonfire
chevelle
rise against

the name of some of those bands just make me not want to listen to them....im more into the 90's alternative rock...you know stone temple piolets, pearl jam, alice in chains, oasis...stuff like that...like certain singers in country...other than that..its 95.7 the ride for me:driver:

And I remember when Forsyth's finest, Swift, was playing holes-in-the-wall, too. It's good to see some people still doing it, though.

I had a coulple of their songs on a random CD and loved it. Never could catch them playing somewhere.

I have an unscratched copy of 5xdown "deaf to the sound". That was (and still is to me) an amazing CD to never "make it big". I remember when they opened up for Jimmies Chicken Shack once and they kinda ruined the show for them. I always got a kick out of a local band wrapping the line to get in to Tremont around the parking lot.

I've seen them mentioned already a couple of times...

There's slayer.

And then there's everyone else.

I like mostly older stuff, some of the new stuff I like, some not so much. I've heard BTBAM's recent stuff is good, I remember that back around 'aspirations' they had real potential, but were still pretty derivative. I've heard job for a cowboy and I didn't think much of them.

On the playlist the past couple of days:

Sabbath
Slayer
COC
The Sword
Mastodon
Baroness
Motorhead

I want a copy of that 5x CD! What'll it take? As for Swift, they still come around fairly frequently.

There have been some hellafied bands listed here! I guess we all have to thank xjsaregay for starting the thread, then politely keeping his nose out. I heard somebody mention Hank III. Mr. "Dick in Dixie and Cunt in Country". I saw him back in 99 opening for Rev. Horton Heat. I wept a little that night. It was that good. I'm still kicking myself for missing the Rev, Heat, Hank III/Assjack, and Nashville Pussy when they came through Raleigh on the 10th. I know the Rev and Nashville haven't put out much good since about 2000, but I bet they still put on a helluva show!

PM me your addy and I could have it to ya by next wk. I had some friends that went to that show in Charlotte, I still haven't heard the end of it. On a side note, I saw Spite and NP play together in Spartanburg at Ground Zero when it was still downtown(long ago), kicked ass.

I have the four CD's from Soundtrack To The Apocalypse in the 6 Disc changer in my Lincoln and the last two are Trivium. Ascendancy and The Crusade. But into Opeth pretty heavily now.

wasnt quite old enough then to be going to lalapalooza ...was only 13 at the time..sounds like a hell of a time though..

I was at the 1st weenie, couldn't believe how empty the place was. I still have that t-shirt and ticket stub for some wierd reason. 7M3 had the best performance by far. The singer is living in Chapel Hill last I heard.

Anybody ever see any shows at the RITZ in Charlotte? We had some hellacious times there.

I think Testament was the last show I saw there - maybe 1989?
Although now that I think about it, that may have been at the 1313?
I partied some with the guys in COC back in college days in Raleigh, and got to play with Pepper and Reed back in 1993 or so at about 3 am at some bar we were all at after the Testament/White Zombie/COC show...
almost bought my wife's engagement ring from Woody's parents jewelry store before it closed...

killswitch engage
atreyu
machinehead
trivium
swift

these are some of my favorites.. KSE is playing in Raleigh Jan. 17th. see ya there

disco rodeo on january 17th. it's off wake forest rd.
you can GUARANTEE that my 6'4" lanky ass will be 1st in line for the wall of death at that show.

KSE is my favorite band of all time. s

I really like Hellyeah.
Alchohaulin Ass is one of the most kickass, hard rockin songs I've heard come out in a while. I have a hard time gettin that one out of my head after I've heard it.

I feel the same way about the new Kid Rock song.
It's got the greatest line ever sung:

I want to F**k you like I'm never gonna see you again

Korns my favorite but I also listen to Static X, All that remains, Coal Chamber, Devil driver, Rob Zombie, Hatebreed, Pantera, Mudvayne, Oh yeah cant forget Slayer. Cant stand rap or pop. Gotta a text the other day made me laugh it said rap stands for retards attempting poetry.
