Thank you for clarifying that.I couldn't figure what I got questioned marked by Rox for, even if he wrote it in Red.I totally forgot it was January.Anyways, yeah,I would be down for January as well.I'd hate to see another place get shut down.
Sorry, I didn't make it BIG enough to stand out.:D

Just pickin with ya.

Thanks for pointing that out.Maybe it's time I get glasses.

You'd think the big Kitty calender my wife hung right next to my desk would do that, but Nope.Anyways bump for a great thread.I hope there is a HUGE Crowd down there In Feb!!!

So is the confirmed dates for the NC4X4 invasion at The Gulches feb 19th and 20th? If so, I'm there.

I may have to go sooner than that. I missed the MC run and should have my jeep back together in the next couple of weeks.Sad to say I only made it once last year.

just a sugestion but how many members does this site have? im new to it and dont get on often and have not been but would be willing to donate $10 bucks. now if every one did that should be allot.

The BDB's Labor Day trip trail report is on the front page, for anyone looking for a little more info on wheeling there.

I don't speak for NC4X4 but I know February 18,19 and 20 4X4E will be heading down.Looks like a really big group going with members of several other Wheeling Clubs joining us.Come on out,I bet it's a great time!!

Have you guys considered:

Have you considered:
1) Lifetime membership - No buy in or ownership stake, but simply a "good any time" life time pass. Sold for X$ ?
Make it transferable/sale-able to someone else on an annual basis. Ex. I can sell it to Joe when I get out of wheeling but I can NOT loan it to him for 1 trip.

2) Advanced Club or Group Membership? Sorta like a group buy. Something like NC4x4 has a pool of 2000 active members each contributes $10 annual (say as part of an extended membership) This entitles them to camp in a designated/reserved camping area for similar VIP groups. Groups get X blocks of free ride passes per year to the group with 1-2 open weekends for the entire group.

3) Basic Club Membership - Club X has 40 members. Sell them a block of full weekend w/ camping tickets in advance or on annual basis. Would help with club trip booking/planning. Also offer late straggler add ons at predetermined rate.

Just some ideas off top of my head..

Sucks I wont be able to make this....

For those of u that dont know. The man in the white buggy with treps is a legend at that park the one the only MILLER!!

gulches

I have been there many times and have to say it is a great park. Skip has always been cool and we have fun. Slept on the trailer with the neighborhood dogs multiple times... We were planning a trip this year but after seeing video of everyone walking up 3d and some other of the tougher trails we decided to go somewhere else that weekend . I have looked at the many other hill climb areas near that 3d section as well as the hill climb area near shipreck and wondered why they don't build some more natural and man made obsticles in those areas. It looks like a lot of untapped potential. I am not trying to say that when it is wet it is not challenging but just seeing if there are legit reasons for not opening up some more of the potential hard lines at the park. I feel that some of the original revenue was from the newness of the park and the Difficultly level of the larger obsticles. Which have seemed to diminish.

All and all great place to ride. I will make it there this year to support a great offroad park. I was just voicing some questions that we talk about around the campfire... And hopefully help with the revenue of a great park.

thanks PJ

This is a great idea sounds like a great way to keep another park from closing The more places we close the more illegal wheeling will happen & will put us wheelers into a negative light. We need to some how get the local media involved & show the public that the off road community isnt a bunch of hooligans with loud un safe vehicles. I've wanted to to to this place since i heard about it opening but it seemed like every time i planned on going there i either broke or got called into work now i dont have a rig but i would love to go if i could catch a ride with someone i would be stoked (be back in NC full time by the end of the month) sorry for the rant but we need to rally together & save our sport

We could be in for this, but we are a bit smaller than 40 members.

Here are some throwbacks of daddy when he first started wheeling, then daddy and I in our first Gulches Powderpuff Competition, and then lastly me competing in Bach's Jeep (which I did get 3rd place in D class in). And FYI and at the time we were scared to death in these pictures haha. :bounce2:

Well Guy's and Gal's ,
I have thought about this today while at work ,we do have a the upper hand on this because it's not state ran like URE or Tellico. So the more idea's that get out there and the more we can help Skip that will be one more park we have control of saving.
Oh Yeah ,if you never been to GULCHES (Gooooo!)
You don't have any idea what you are missing .This is east coast "southern" wheeling at it's finest. Rocks/Mud/Hills/Gulches (DEEP RAVINES)
Help Skip save the park.

Our family used to go about every month!! I assume we will try that again at least every other or 2. Gulches must remain open!!!!!!!!!!! It is an awesome place to wheel and you feel like you are at home there with the kind folk!!! They cook lunch also, "cheap"!!!!
I bet if you go once you will go back!!

This place can not close down!!!! Skip I got a new job don't know if I can come down a whole lot but I will send donation money anything I can do to help.
