Hippies Attack!!

-They're wearing plastic helmets
-Using synthetic climbing rope
-Have mass-manufactured PPE equipment and clothing on
-Using carabiners from a high-alloy steel
-Have headlamps with batteries
-And don't know anything about supply chains.

The thing I find ironic is that they lock down an entire college campus because someone carrying an umbrella in their backpack is mistaken for a terrorist, yet a group of BRIGHTLY colored uniforms with full rappelling gear manages to infiltrate a rather large energy compound.

Noone's afraid of hippies.

Just noticed something....

I'm sure this isn't accurate, but it sure looks like I'm right....

And honestly, I don't care if I'm accurate or not.

...Security was not at the post 911 level yet, but lets just say that the local cops didnt think it was funny and treated them a little roughly. I guess they figured the whiney lil' bitches were going to cry about thier treatment any way might as well kick a few asses.

It's sad that anyone would think this is acceptable behavior from LEOs. It's the court's job to punish people, not the police.

Yeah, like this, or very similar:

Is that the one in Sherrills Ford? My friends used to play on the ash piles there (I know, not very smart).

Those train cars would be let go and roll down the tracks and slam into the front cars. The trains were the loudest part of the plant.

If any of you have never toured the plants, you should. They are really cool.

I thought it was funny. The guy inside the coal car at the plant was tresspassing. He didn't accidentally arrive there.

Fidiots

Ya know, if they didn't get any press, they would just go away. I mean imagine if your wife/girlfriend went to the top of a smokestack and nagged, would anybody hear her?

The cops had all the right in the world to arrest them. That's what they're being paid to do.

Assault > Trespassing in the grand scheme of things. Cops don't need to take the law into their own hands; we have judges and prisons for that.

Fart... It sounds like you might have recieved a little of this somewhere along the line. I think I would rather have a boot in my ass than pepper spray in my eyes. Just saying.
I have been in a few late night, ummm... heated discussions at race tracks. If the cops get a grip on you, they are doing what it takes to deal with the situation. If I am there, swinging fists, I am asking for it and know its coming. If I catch a cold while running around naked in the rain, I deserve it. The serverity of that cold may or may not be proportional to the length of time or the temperature of the rain, and it really dosent matter, since I am the dumbass running arround in it. I get whats coming to me.
I dont think we were talking "Rodney King" here. Just smacking around a few anti authority, overly enlightened, punk ass, sense of entitlement carrying, Warren Wilson College attending, patchouli stinking, bumper sticker printing, never worked a day in thier life, looking to make a difference in the world with a 10 dollar banner from Kinkos, activists. They are grown on campussys... um... Campuses everywhere and the fact that they believe it will make them a front page hero and the cops cant really do anything to them makes them pseudo brave. Well... Out here in the real world, you can get the smart slapped out of your mouth if you dont respond to and respect the law. Especially when you have endangered innocent people that have to jump into a coal hopper to hand dig you out before the weight crushes your lungs and you die.
Is it polite? No.
Is it perfectly correct? No.
Was it deserved? Yep.

No, it's just one I googled. The one here in Sherrils Ford has sides built around both sides of the rail car, but it's the same concept.

PLEASE run for some kind of political office.... PLEASE!!!!!

Oh I guarantee they would hear hear

He didn't say the cops beat the guy to death. If he fell down the steps on the way to the patrol car it happens. Why do people not fear and respect the police anymore - or any authority - because lawyers have so neutered them that they have no muscle. If the cops were still allowed to slap the taste out of a douchebags mouth the world would be a much better place.

Especially when you have endangered innocent people that have to jump into a coal hopper to hand dig you out before the weight crushes your lungs and you die.

I read something a few weeks ago where they pulled bodies out of a coal pile of people who had not been found when the car was dumped. I think being treated roughly is a much better outcome than a pine box. Both are suitable awards fro such stupidity.

Giving hippies a beating on the way to the police station is not going to change their beliefs. If anything it proves they are at least partially right. What happens when the officers get caught in the act and shame their department and profession? A professional would not lower themselves to that level.

When you choose to support this type of activity you don't get to pick and choose how or when it is applied. Some cops might not like trespassing activists. Others might not like certain races or nationalities. They might catch you spinning your tires on the road and decide YOU deserve a smack. It's a slippery slope with far more grey areas than black and white and that's what makes it so intolerable.

We have a court system to handle punishment. It may not be a perfect system, but it's better than giving police officers the authority to beat US citizens at their own discretion.

If the cops get a grip on you, they are doing what it takes to deal with the situation. If I am there, swinging fists, I am asking for it and know its coming. If you're there swinging fists the cops obviously have to do what they have to do to get you in control. That's their job. Are you advocating that they should also be able to stop on the way to the police station and smack you around a little at their discretion? Because that's what we're really talking about here. I don't know why any American citizen would sign away their civil rights so readily.

You damn well better hear her.

Nope, shoulda sniped all ther damn asses off right after they got up there.

Coulda been the start of DOIN SHIT RITE in this country again.

Sumbitches had REAL JOBS and REAL LIVES wouldn,t have time to pull crap like that in the first place.

Damn limp wristed college professor brain washed wastes of oxygen is all they are.

Fart,
I respect your points. I am totaly against beating the presumed innocent. These idiots are not presumed to be anything. They are willfully thumbing thier collective noses at the law and common sense. They planned this, they executed this, and thier safety net is that the cops wont do anything but show up and make it all the more sensationalized in the media.
Just like you, am a very proud of the rights we have here in our country. I travel to other poorer countries and every trip makes me so gratefull to call America home. I am not interested in seeing goose stepping Nazis in our police forces either. When I was a kid, they would put 1 cop at a big sporting event. Now, there is a like a 500:1 ratio. There is no public fear of consiquences. I still harbor a healthy fear that my 72 year old father could thump my ass if he really needed to. We have taken HEALTHY fear out of the equation. There is no respect for the law or serious consiquences for breaking it. Repeat offenders are filling up our judicial system for consensual crimes. Meanwhile the scum of the earth roam free because the system is overloaded.
If a cop tells me to Halt! I am gonna' halt. If not, I expect to hear gunshots. When he politely asks me to unchain myself from a coal car. I would be shitting the key I just swallowed. If I dont, I just chose to escalate the situation. I get whats comming.

Life is a see saw. If you ask a 300 pound gorilla to jump on the other end...You are gonna' get smacked in the nads.:bounce2:

If we don't already have a quote hall of fame, I'm starting it with this one right here.

I kinda like this quote about producing the key better. Never heard that before, ROFL! Great stuff.

I don't think they would have gotten very far if they had tried this :poop: at a nuclear powerplant, more likely that 1 or more would have been shot dead w/o much if any warning.........just sayin
