Homeless disabled veteran (my brother) any help appreciated.

If you would like to help out for a night, the link for the motel's page is http://www.staystudio6.com/reservations/motel_detail.aspx?num=6008 if you are going to do it, you can call or text him at 757-921-8541 to let him know you have the night and make sure someone else hasn't already covered it. Thanks so much guys, this has been a whole lot more than I ever expected. I can't wait to have him in the camper!

You cannot pay for room over phone. Must fax or email with copy if card and DL. Trying to pay for tonight as soon as I get email from them. Just FYI for anybody wanting to help.

Redneckcj5guy, did you have to send copy of DL and CC to pay?

Done. Tonight's on me. Least I can do for man that sacrificed for my freedoms! Come on guys, step up, call the motel and help this vet out!

Forgive me if I missed it, but is it the plan for him to stay in Fla? With all my connections there, I could possibly be of assistance in the long term.

Dylan, as soon as he has some obligations in Jacksonville area taken care of he plans to move to Asheville area. 6mos - 1yr from now.

No. Called the place @904-731-7317 and talked to a nice young lady named Cassidy. She is La Bamba!
Took less than 5 minutes. Jonathon was in the lobby waiting, she handed him the phone. One hell of a nice guy who was very thankful.

Awesome my brother. I just ran across this thread. Looks like he is doing good on rooms. How else can I help?

I called and had the form to pay for a room sent to me. Paul must have done some sweet talking to miss labamba and done it over the phone cause she wouldn't let me for the next night needed over the phone.

Update from John, He was trying to sell some belongings to get his po box and it fell through. No money to pay for it. I am heading to wall mart to send cash so he can get that po box set up

<<<<Being OG and the owner of Aftermath Records helped a bit when talking to a sistah.

I tried to text him I would love to help in anyway I can let's get this guy back on his feet and make sure he can eat.

I know that would be appreciated, I talked to him some this afternoon and didn't realize all he's really eaten this week is ramen noodles and peanut butter/honey sandwiches from the shelter.

I really do appreciate all that you guys have already done, and since I posted this a few days ago God has really answered prayers through you! I can't wait to get him closer to me and even talked to him about one day, when things are back in order, starting a Veteran themed crawler project and getting into some of the events. This is a ways off but he can't wait to put back in and help others like you have help him.

Y'all keep me posted and let me know when the po box comes through and if he needs another night payed for, a brother should never have to go down this road and we as vets and citizens should always be of what help we can. As stated in other words we all take alot of what we have for granted in times like this we need to step up and help as we are able to....

Sent him the cash for the po box and some food/tank of gas, the po box will be very usefull in getting him the help he needs in whatever form.
You are the most tireless defender of Vets i have ever seen in my life.
Bad Ass!
Paul...

Talked with my mom about this. Long story short...

My mom moved to Jacksonville from here, so she could be closer to her 2 sisters and bro in law. She moved in next door to My Aunt Cathy and Uncle Larry, to help out while Larry and mom's other sister( Aunt Sandy) battle cancer, chemo treatments and all the hell that comes with cancer. And boooom...just last week, my aunt Cathy was diagnosed with jaw cancer. They are acting fast with a complicated jaw surgery coming on the 18th..with chemo to follow for her as well. Damn...thats 3 siblings at one time.

I tell you all that, not for pity or to hijack...but to say that my mom has offered her home for this vet for a period of time until his family comes. Says she can go next door and stay with Cathy and Larry.

This is not what I expected and not sure I'm comfy with this. But the offer stands.
She also says that St Johns county is ''way on the other side of Jacksonville'' ( its a big town lol) and that she was sorry she couldn't help with money or travel to help him, seems her car is falling apart as well, her finances are very tight...and her time is well spent already.

Sooo...not sure how fast this might could happen and like I said, still not sure I'm comfy with this idea, but there is an offer.

@dackers Id like to know your brothers name and talk with him a bit before I can consider allowing my mom to do this.

Her words'' Son...we all owe our vets gratitude and out government sucks at this. But think nothing of asking our vets to prepare to die defending USA on foreign soil. Government is steady trying to take all of our rights away and we need to impeach the whoring Obama!~Sorry Son. I love you.''

Did I mention...My mom is a trip, and a helluva woman when it comes to helping people like this. I just wish I could help more with everything she is going through in her day to day grind of helping others.

Thank you guys, I don't know you, but you've been a real blessing for Leslie and me. I've talked to a few of you on the phone and in texts and I've got nothing but good to say about the guys from this forum. We didn't ask for this kind of help, but you've graciously given it regardless. I can't wait to get moved up there and build a rig to ride with you (I miss my 92 F250 long bed 4x4 with the 7.3). I'll make sure that we pay this forward!

My 3-legged tuxedo cat (Lodbrok) has food today because of you!
