Homeless disabled veteran (my brother) any help appreciated.

first off I am grateful for your service Sir. A small donation is the least i can do to help you get back on your feet. There should be enough in the GoFundMe for a room for a night or food for a couple days if someone has already taken care of the room. I hope to see you up here and on the trails one day!

I am glad to hear that you guys are able to eat a decent meal and have a roof over your head!

Keep your head held high and pushing forward John!.

Any updates on the PO box?

yeah, creek bed in the rain, made the mistake of not switching to 4hi and gunning it lol...we had a really rough day with a couple of appointments for leslie and she went to see her grandfather in the hospital and now we're looking at an ER trip for her...when it rains it pours. just don't look up with your mouth open lol...the PO box has to wait until tomorrow.

the problem I'm running into is the gofundme money takes 2-5 days to get to my bank. I'm trying to find a way to pay through monday, and hoping monday that there's enough there to pay the weekly rate at the cheaper hotel. we actually prefer the cheaper one because there are king size beds lol, but they don't take cards over the phone or online.

If someone missed their opportunity that wanted to help with the room, the next day or 2 are open waiting on gofundme to transfer. Thanks guys, it has all been a little overwhelming.

I really want to say thank you to everyone who's helped, whether it be financially or through prayer. We really appreciate having a room so that we don't have that stress as much and being able to eat a little at "home" instead of having to go to the shelter to eat has been a significant morale boost.

Awesome! Glad you are doing well, and glad the community has stepped up to help a veteran.

Yes, Jon has had a heck of a few weeks and on top of it his fiance's grandfather died yesterday. On the up side though, he and our dad are on their trip to Norfolk, VA to pick up the rest of his belongings and then headed to get the camper! It is going to be a long trip so please keep them in your prayers. From the looks of it dad will be traveling almost 3000 miles in 6 days!

Glad to see things coming together for this man. He is in my prayers. The gofundme account makes things easier.

Keep praying... Last night Jon and our dad got to Hendersonville from Hampton, VA with a trailer load of Jon's possessions. They jack-knifed the trailer in our sister's front driveway on the ice. This afternoon they are heading back to Jacksonville without the camper because the weather was too rough to go to Sevierville to pick up the camper. The camper will have to come later and I know this was hard for Jon to accept.

We weren't able to get the camper due to weather. I guess we'll be trying again in a few weeks when the weather gets a little warmer. I got my federal taxes back so I was able to pay for the room for 2 weeks and get a new power steering pump and hose, and a starter, groceries and such. I'm looking for a really cheap 3/4 - 1 ton 4x4, so if anyone knows anyone that has one, please let me know.

Thanks again for the amazing help and the prayers!

Also, my ex turned off my phone, but I was able to get my old Casio G'Zone activated through straight talk. The number is 904-574-0632

Hrmmm....
Wondering if I could help with getting the camper moved.

What kind of shape is it in? Is it road worthy? Tires, lights etc.

It should be hook up and drive with the possibility of having to change 1 tire with the spare. I know it's got a minor roof leak by the AC but that's all the damage I know of. It's a 1975 28' travel trailer. All I know is I need it here especially from a financial standpoint. I'm spending $602 every 2 weeks for hotel and I could be spending half that for the month for lot rent leaving me enough to make the roof repair and replace the plumbing (it didn't get winterized) and floor coverings (carpet was removed I'm guessing because of the roof leak)

ok more information...trailer weight should be about 4200lb. my durango is rated for a 4700lb trailer and can take about 1400lb tongue load.
if someone can just help me get it out of tennessee to somewhere relatively flat, there's no need to bring it all the way to florida
