Calling out the NC DEQ:
Calling out the NC DEQ:
As much as I doubt Elon and trump. I hope they cut the fat… let’s put the taxes where it’s neededY’all I’m no government apologist, but I’m not sure exactly what people expect from FEMA. There was a massive hurricane that started impacting Florida a day earlier, so they were already working down there. Then there was such severe damage in WNC/ETN that there was literally no communication in or out for like 48-72 hours. And by then, all the guys like me, @Noel @justjeepin86 and countless others were already getting the job done, and the last thing anybody wants is govco in the way. The lack of presence by NCDEQ is the best thing that could happen. It’s a literal disaster zone, so more barriers and more restrictions simply inhibit progress. People need to rebuild, and having to fill out a form and pay a fee so some guy in his office can feel important doesn’t get a damn thing done.
He claimed he would drain the swamp, lower gov spending, etc last time. Didn't do much of that so I don't hold a ton of hope there. As much as I doubt Elon and trump. I hope they cut the fat… let’s put the taxes where it’s needed
Maybe the appointment of Matt Gaetz and others will change thatHe claimed he would drain the swamp, lower gov spending, etc last time. Didn't do much of that so I don't hold a ton of hope there.
Speaking in analogies.....the swamp is full of deeply rooted trees causing stagnation. To drain it we need to trim the trees.... Congress and the Senate. The POTUS has a limited effect. Literally very few understand the Forest service hasn't done its job in decades. He claimed he would drain the swamp, lower gov spending, etc last time. Exactly even if he truly wants to, it’s one man vs a corrupt army.Speaking in analogies.....the swamp is full of deeply rooted trees causing stagnation. To drain it we need to trim the trees.... he's off to a piss poor start. He claimed he would drain the swamp, lower gov spending, etc last time. Didn't do much of that so I don't hold a ton of hope there.

I have experienced alot of people needing *help* but when they realize youre not trying to help with their ENTIRE wish list (gift cards included), they will ghost you
So if you have a reputable contact, or specifically know of someone in need, please let me know

@ckruzer call me 423 329 6277I think Tonya has some contact info for a guy in Spruce pine.
A friend has been going to Swananoa and setting up their food truck, feeding anyone that's hungry and living in a tent.
They have been been doing this since the second week ..... and all out of their own pocket.
We heard they were looking for a camper and decided to get our pop-up on the road and just give/donate it to them.
We haven't used it in 6 years and we did expect to spend some on it to get it road/sleep worthy.
Some work and then 2 new tires and a new spare and we opened it up ...... wow!
It looks like Mickey Mouse on parade!
Most stuff is OK but the top and bunk pads are trashed!!!
With what we had spent, the top was just too much for them or us to swing right now.
Breaks my heart because it my health was better I would have been up there 5 weeks ago doing emergency coms with the ham operators.
Best documentation I’ve seen of the damage around Asheville. And hard to believe it’s still this bad 2 months after.
I've been up around the Hendersonville/Etowah area a bunch the last month. I have noticed this alot. Its either perfect or still as bad as day one. Not much in between. It's strange, some lots are spotless and the next one over is as bad as day one.
Yep, the fema employee compound that’s 2 miles from my house is being dismantled as we speak. The high fence was taken down this morning and nonstop trucks hauling the trailers away. With people still living in tents, FEMA begins exodus from Western North Carolina | Blaze Media
