Because at my work, we don't have sick days. You either come to work sick or use you vacation days. Fawking sucks.

well here we give everyone a crap load of sick/vacation days.. they should use them.. or take a unpaid day..

Stupid scientists would rather be sick in the lab than at home though...

No work, no pay. No sick days. Vacation's a week at a time, scheduled a year in advance. I could get a leave, no pay the first week, 1/3 pay after that. Think I'll go to work if I can make it.

I get three days personal, one paid, two unpaid. I used two when I got sick last winter, and one during the summer because of injury. I was late one day when my Cherokee broke down. Was 2 hours late, got a verbal warning for being over my 26 hours, So if I get sick, I don't have much choice but to go to work. You can't use vacation unless they have 24 hours notice, and if there won't be more than 4 people out.
