It’s cold and windy. Boo

Power is still out here at the farm. Some extra buddy heaters knocked the chill off. Turns out our “next door” neighbors are fed off a different line and they had power. They offered their generator to get us up on the basics til everything came back on.

Now…to just get tractors cranked so we can get everyone fed. 🤣 one problem at a time.
 
Woke up to ‘feels like -3’…and the girls wanted the chill out of the air…so we’ve had the fireplace going for a couple hours…

That kid in the pic is nothing but skin and bones, and as cold intolerant as they come. You pull her out of the lake on a hot summer day, her lips are blue and she’s shivering.
 
It’s cold here, but not unbearable. I think it’s 28 degrees at the moment, but feels like 19 with the wind. I took the side by side out for a spin after installing a new battery, and I sent about 20 arrows down range just because. I could hang outside today if I had to.

I'm with @jeepinmatt, I was made for this weather. I was out cutting trees off my mil's driveway this morning bright and early and loving it. The only downside for me is that previous generations of my family plumbed like we're in the Bahamas. I spend a lot of time dripping faucets and checking lightbulbs.

Hahahah! Our equipment needs that button too. The jump box and my dually got
a workout today but all the equipment ended up cranking pretty easy once we hooked up the cables. Too bad the drive home exploited the dry rot in a few of the IH’s tires or I would have let the neighbors hear the song of our people.

So far we haven't lost power. Had an outside spigot freeze up and the sump pump drain hose freeze. Not too bad, but we can't use any water because it all draims im the basement.
