is anyone goine out to the jeep jamboree in tennesse in march?never been to one before and would be interested in getting some idea what to expect

IMO...expect to pay alot of $$ for a great experience.
But..This kind of experience could be yours, for a lot less, by joining a 4x4 club. I have been to JEEP JAMBOREE, before, and had a blast, but now, looking back, I have more fun in a less''commercial'' enviroment, by riding with friends on club rides.
It is a great experience though.

I think Jeep Jamborees are GREAT! I have been to the last two in Tennessee (took my wife and son last year). Yes they cost a good deal of money, but where else can you get together with 150 other Jeepers from all over the US? I have made great friends at the two events I have been to. Good enough that I have been wheelin' with some of them three times this year. Windrock (where the tennessee Jamoree is held) has everything from mild to wild.
Of course, that is my opinion and I am sure you will hear from others that have not had a good time and do not think it is worth it. But if you have never been to one, I recommend going to at least once and deciding for yourself if it is worth it.

I'm a helper at JJUSA at TN mountains and Appalachian (Tellico) Jamboree. I think they are definitely worth the cost! The ORANGE group is always a blast at Jamborees and I would reccommend going wheelin' with us this March!! If you have any more specific questions you need answered, pm me.

I have also been to a Jeep Jamboree ... I went to the Tellico one in Oct 2000.

It was a blast, well organized, great folks, worth every penny spent.

Just like Camp Jeep: They are both very expensive but if you can afford it, it is a lot of fun.

i may be wrong but didnt they begin to lower the prices starting last year at the one in va

i wuldnt mind going if my jeep wasnt my DD
Mines not exactly a DD (its a third vehicle), but I drove it from Hickory to the JJ in Tennessee and back. You don't have to hit the toughest trails. There were a few stock Grands there last year. Just run the trails you are comfortable with.
And Yes the ORANGE group is the best. That is the group I ran with last year. Great bunch of people and the best trail guides anywhere.:flipoff2:

TN Mountains Jamboree is March 27, 28, and 29 this year. Its a little earlier than usual for some reason. I think they were shuffling some of the different Jamborees around a bit. Anyway, there is a cheaper way to pay for the Jamboree. There is a "trails only" deal you can sign up for that seems to be the most popular way to go. The only difference in this way and regular is that they don't feed you lunch on the trails. Cost is $190 a head (for trails only--I think under 12 is cheaper). Then there is your hotel or camping, trail lunch, and any other goodies. You do get VERY NICE dinners on Friday and Saturday nights with a prize drawing on Sat. If you are going, you need to show up on Thursday the 27th to get signed up in a group for rides on Friday and Saturday.

I am also one of the helpers, and I have been to 17 jeep jamborees. I have been attending them since 1999, and I LOVE IT. If you have any questions at all let us know. Myself and Casey79cj7 are part of the orange group and if you like family fun and CRAZY YAHOOS! then you will love it.
by the way, Hey Hannah WCU, how have you been lately????

I was at the windrock JJ with Steve last year. It was my second one. My son always attend with me and we both have had a great time. It is a little more family oriented event than some other rides I have been on and I liked that. The people were great and the trails were good. If you can swing the $ it is a great way to meet people and ride new trails.
