Jeep SRT revival

Bellhousing bolts and it's ready to pull
If the block is salvageable, I'm gonna rebuild it myself and add MDS delete with a better cam.
If the block is trashed, gonna pull the trigger on a crate Mopar Performance long block
Does the Mopar Performance long block delete MDS and have a better cam? Or just a similar replacement?

You can buy a later model long block that has no MDS. There's a MP dealer that can add the cam while still maintaining the warranty. That's my worse case scenario.
Just need a canned tune to turn off the CEL that way

What is a MP?

Mopar Perfomance.
le performance de mopar en francais :D
Found one in VA that sells the long blocks at a very reasonable price. Enough savings to justify a road trip for a day
Gotchu.

I know that Arrington Performance was great to deal with. When I was working on that engine, they sent me a used rod/piston from a donor they were building.
During the discussion, they mentioned potentially buying one of the blocks with scored walls I had available, since they would bore it anyway. Ended up giving it back to the customer but it might be a cost saving option for you if you're road tripping to VA already.

If youā€™re already doing a cam and tune, have you thought about slapping on a OE supercharger?

Not going full gonzo on upgrades. I'm not keeping this one long term or anything.
Gonna fix it correctly and reliability is key.
If I were keeping it, I still have my old Fox Body license plate.
I GO TENS šŸ˜‰

Contrary to most men's belief...

8 is better than 10. At least in this case :D

Spent a few hours in the shop and got the engine out and torn down. #3 rod bearing had spun and the piston was rocking in the cylinder. Walls look good with cross hatching still visible.
MDS solenoids are in the trash can for good.
Went ahead and disassembled to the rotating assembly and will drop off at the machine shop this week.
Gonna get a full rebuild with crank, rods and new pistons along with a better cam.
