Did you guys hear about the dude that put pop rocks in his mouth and drank a coke at the same time...then jumped into Linville Falls. His stomach exploded, but they're not sure if the jump killed him or Covid did.

Sounds like a made up story. I’ve seen 10yr children jump Linville falls and NO ONE in a fraternity has ever hiked all the way down there. Also there is a 30ft a 40ft and 130ft jump there not a 70ft…

Elk river falls is not near the Linville gorge. Elk river averages a few newbie tourist die most years but very rarely from jumping purposely… Linville falls has had zero jumpers die in the history of the falls and maybe one every two to four years in the entire length of the gorge- dies hiking or rock climbing although one year had two deaths. A girl recently fell about 120ft from a look out over linville falls but she did not die jumping.
