King of the Hammers 2012, interested in going?

Tickets weren't required last year, either. They had a $10 pass last year that you could buy that would let you into some of the more 'exclusive' events.

There was an optional $10 donation for spectators last year... with a couple of extra perks, like Shawn said...

Appears to be mandatory for 2012.

"Your 2011 KOH race experience will now include a small donation to offset our increased logistics needs. Each person in attendance will be asked to donate an entry fee of $10.00. Your entry fee is good for the entire week and includes camping. Entry fees will be a per person flat rate of $10.00 for one day, one hour, one minute, or the entire week. There is no better Motorsports value."

That's the notice from last year. Where'd you see that it's mandatory for 2012?

Oops... hmm. Now I'm wondering if they goofed on the date or left old info. up on their site for this long? There's this.

I will be ion terminal leave by this time so it would be awesome to go out to this!!

Anyone planning to drive out, with trailer space, and diesel tank to be filled?

I'll split drive time and fuel costs if we can drive the pimp Cummins wagon :flipoff2:

Find another rig to load on trailer to split fuel with, and you can take my truck and an open gooseneck out. I'm flying though.

I checked... and although an official statement hasn't been made (I'll try to get more info.)... due to the additional logistics and safety costs associated with a growing event and basically doubling the size of everything with the Every Man Challenge, spectators will pay a $20 entry fee.

The BLM and security is more than likely going to be more strict than last year and the most strict last year for spectators, it was a big deal at the drivers meeting.... They had only two or three places that spectators could watch the race and roads they where "supposed" to be on.... Shit still hit the fan so I bet there will be more BLM influence and more security.

I would like to go spectate with my buggy. Trying to get plans aligned to go, still too early to tell. I would be driving my dually Chevy with 24' deckover and my buggy, and I suppose would be camping.

Well, to either one of you guys. I really want to go. I'll split gas and driving if we do that. Or i'll fly out if that route. Just let me know.

A friend and I are debating on going out to watch, if anyone needs a rig transported out there, our plan would be to be there by no later than Feb 6th (hopefully eariler), and stay a couple days after, but that may all change. We would LIKE to run some trails while out there, may be on ATV or who know what, but I'd hate to go and not see some of the trails.

My trailer is a 36' enclosed gooseneck, room for a buggy is about 15', ceiling height is only 6'6", but if your rig is too tall the tires could be removed if need be.

If anyone planning on going has a truck with a gooseneck ball, then I would pay all my expenses, split drive time, and supply the enclosed trailer (with A/C and hot shower).

If I drive my truck, well, be ready to pay at least half of the fuel bill (easily $1000 probably), and be ready to be cramped in the back seat (ext cab truck).

Isn't this on public land?
Maybe I'm crazy but shouldn't they not be able to force payment for spectating? I can understand a "heavily suggested donation" of course...
