Im thinking about going to koh next year to watch and ride around some for atleast a week since its right around my birthday and ive been wanting to go for a few years ( better do it before I get married or have kids or somthing) Does amybody have advice or tips? I know ill need an ohv permit from comifornia other than that what do I need to know about going? I feel like my truck is setup fairly well but I will have the cage done and rebuild the motor before I go

If you're tagged and insured you don't need a CA OHV permit. They sell them for 20 bucks at hammer town if you do need one. Take something with hard sides to sleep in. The wind can be terrible.

You can get a ticket for setting a gas can down on the ground.

One night on the lakebed, I was certain our camper was going to blow over.

There are border patrol guards at the CA state line. They will confiscate firewood and produce.

You can buy liquor at a gas station.

Gas is outrageously expensive in CA.

You can only drive 55mph if you're towing a trailer.

Watch for bomb craters.

Bring ski goggles. Keep them with you at all times.

Come prepared for 75F daytime temps and 20F nighttime temps.

hahaha what shawn said^^^^^^ and once again watch those bomb craters lol

Gas was not as outrageous as I had expected, diesel was. Be prepared for lots of wind and dust, and then even more wind and dust. It is Big area and the event is spread out during the race, we picked 1 spot to view the race as I was happy with the action we saw. I wish I had brought my insulated bibs. Did I mention the wind and dust (another dead camera.)
