KOH LIVE

I had planned on hard plumbing nearly everything with stainless tubing but the time and expense involved was just way too much for the benefit I would ever get out of it. I can imagine on a racer it would be even more $$$

I bet as a private guy without the killer deals a lot of these guys get a competitive 4400 car is going to cost you at least 150K, could see 250k easy if you can't do the work yourself.

EMC cars are pushing 100k easy, a lot of the guys have said that an EMC car build isn't far from a 4400 car now if you want to run at the top of the field.

Buy a local to NC Ultra4 4400 car for the low low price of 160k

Shannon Campbell's rig with IRS would be really badass. It's already badass...

I agree, but most of these mid-engine cars run an offset trailing arm rear for packaging. Mid-engine and long travel IRS can make packaging with low COG more difficult.

That's a good point, I'm used to mid engine cars with a transaxle and no transfer case. Wow, that would be a fun product to design, a transaxle with a front output tail on the side of the case... It would be like cutting the output tail of a Subaru AWD trans off, then flipping around and sticking it on the side so it points forward.

Are the mid engine KOH guys running an inverted setup, where the trans is in front of the engine and 180 degrees from normal?

Yes, engine pointing towards the rear. Flipped differentials to correct direction. Most of them are running built 9" or gearworks 10", iirc.

That was about the saddest video I could ever watch from a racer lol. He looked SOOOOOOOOOOOO bummed.

Yep. He looked so bummed. Hard to prep against that. Being a Torq14/Spidertrax setup, I'd be interested to see better pics of the failure. It's not an old beat up axle. Seems like it should have held up at least a year

Damn that's impressive to mess up an axle like that. But they are beating the hell out of them too lol.

Anybody know anything about Jay? His tracker hasn't moved in an hour or so.

Best I can figure, Jay got off course this morning, missed check two, found the race again then spent the rest of the day "racing".

Half a million was a number floating around hammer town.

Slawson- who is one of the best drivers out there- qualified 22nd in a $150k car.
