KOH Some pics of Will (From PBB)

Bottom line is that Shannon drove and behaved like an idiot on the course after being DQ'd. It was said over the radio numerous times that he was DQ'd for being "strapped in". The thousand viewers and bloggers all heard it and its no mystery. DQ means get your ass off the course. If he or his sponsors or anyone else wanted to see the Shannon Campbell show then run the course on one of the other 364 days of the year to prove a point. Hes a talented guy and has the equipment to rock out at any time. There were 90 other guys out there who didn't seem to have much of a problem with radio communication so at some point he knew he was DQ'd and no excuse, or reparation is deserving of excusing his actions.

Congrats to Will for keeping his cool and running one hell of an event. There was a lot of hard work put into that thing over the preceeding months right down to the wire and he's got a lot to be proud of in his efforts out there. See you boys when you get back!

Well Shannon Campbell has proven what kind of a spoiled brat tool he really is.

Here is a contact page for the folks at King of the Hammers if you care to leave a message for them about letting a disqualified racer interfere with racers that were still in the race.

Great job at the KOH Will. If not for the damage done to your rig when Shannon ran into your rig what place would you have likely finished?

I think everyone knows that it's really a waste of time to complain.. They're all on each others nuts over there :shaking:

Has Shannon said anything yet? I'd like to know how he made it "right" as well...

Ok I'm going to play devil's advocate just for thought.... NOT defending SC by any means.

But here it is. I do wonder (not having been there/seen it) what the pass is like leading up to that point? There were buggies behind Cambell. It didn't look liek he could exactly turn around, or even pull to the side very easily?
So lets see, you are running the race amongst the thick of the pack, and come on this scenerio... guy in front of you has flopped. There are competitors behind you - people who are anxious to get by and THEIR scores depend on getting past this obstacle as well. You are in their way.
Once sitting there, what are the choices?
A. Turn around and go back. Honestly I doubt thsi is an option - narrow pass and people behind you.
B. Sit and wait. How long do you wait? All you know is, he's flopped. In the vid, he twitched a bit, then stopped. Maybe looks to you like he's dead in the water.
C. Go on by, and try and go around. You have an IFS rig so the steering is sloppy - *try* not tp hit him. Oops...

IMO, A is out. B is polite - but the guys behind you COULD get pissy, "why is this fool waiting for him? etc". C not only gets you moving, but the guys that are competing.

I dunno, maybe he was thinking about the other guys.
And while he clearly ran into Will's rig, it wasn't clearly on purpose. It's not clearl to me he had alot of choice.

What IS clear is, he should have been off the course BEFORE that. but as mentioned, it's all about the $$.

Alright, I didn't really want to get into this but 1. I'm kinda bored. and 2. I have been drinkin (nieces 2nd b'day and REALLY hoping it snows in Raleigh)
SO: got this from the "Why was SC DQ'd" thread
I am starting to see a pattern here. Is it just me or is this turning into a NC butt hurt thread. I am guessing here but is 92x from NC ?
*goes off to investigate*
it absolutely makes no diffrence to me what state Will is from and until I went and looked I had no idea.

Per Ratlab------I thought about that too, If the guy behind shannon was still in the race he would have probably ran over Will too, oh wait he just went around him. With that said shannon had to go. For the sake of the other people in the race. however he should have not been in the way. To me it would have been the same as a spectator who was driving his buggy up to watch and being caught in the way.....and everyone knows how that would have turned out he may have been shot.

It was said, I talked to a racer tonight, that they were trying to stop shannon at the checkpoints but he would not listen and just kept going. With that said.. It was also said, in the drivers meeting explicitly that there would be no Fawking around and that if you did anything that was stupid against the rules ect. ect. this would be your last time ever competing at KOH. If this had been Will or one of the other about 40 not favorite competitors who did this they would have been black balled and never allowed to race again. You can count on Shannon racing next year with no penalty.

Lance is staying out of it b/c hes shannons spotter.

Camo is a know it all douchebag who thinks he knows everything about racing, business and life b/c he happened to own the PB4x4 domain years ago and it took off. hes 40 going on about 15. Trying to get him to understand anything is like trying to get 2 week year old puppy not to urinate on the floor. But alas he is the big dog b/c he owns Pirate.

yeah I'm a little bored, so this is entertaining.

plus, bashing Camo at something like this is just great

he's finally admiting that he was wrong, somewhat

after watching the video a little more, it appears that Will being on his side kept shannon from rolling in the same spot.

Will should have let Shannon pass, flip on his side, and did some burnouts on his car :)

I guess my intention is calling out Camo and that hes an ass. I think hes finally realizing it. That, or he's realizing hes fighting a loosing battle. I haven't had anything better to do today because of the weather, and I guess my actions wouldn't appear to be so harsh but Camo's making light of the whole situation and being a complete douche.

And, no disrespect to the great work Will and crew did. Kudos to you all. Good luck next year.

I'm sitting in a hotel room @ Heavenly so I'm not really gonna type alot. Just wanted to jump in and say that Will(we) did a helluva job out there.

Unfortunately, Sam had an unexpected break. Gotta love when you pay for something and it fails. Everything we built held together fine, but a manufacturers part left him out of the running. Also, to those of you building rigs that may want to race, make sure you leave at least 5" of headroom for tall folks like myself. I wasn't allowed to be Sam's spotter due to lack of headroom. Thankfully, Dave was there to take my place.

I'll go ahead and say that Will didn't get to pre-run at ALL. The course was intense and we were all a little worried but when everyone woke up Friday(yea yea I know I was late) it was all business. Will brought his A game, and we ran the hell out of the pits. Everyone busted ass to get Will through that finish line. I've just glanced through but it sounds like you all know about SC and all that. Without that "little incident" Will would have been top 10 no question. I think we represented the East very well, especially NC.

Most people we're very helpful and nice, but some of them had some real egos. If it makes any of you feel better, I met alot of West Coast guys that really hate Camo as well. Pirate4x4 has its place but KOH is really putting it on the map and with all this drama I'll be interested to see how "they" deal with it. It seems from what I've read that Camo is acting the same as always.

Lastly, we've been getting snowed on all day here, rode Sierra today and Heavenly yesterday. Heavenly is absolute garbage for any of you that snowboard. Don't go there ever, its awful. Sierra is SOOOO much better and only about 20 minutes up the rode. We're going to either hit Squaw Valley, Northstar or Boreal tomorrow just haven't decided yet? I'm off to the hot tub, see yall when I get back.

Great Job to everyone from NC who even made it out there. I think I speak for all us in that you all made us proud.. It was real cool asking questions on the live stream Friday night, I kept trying to ask NOLEN to get Will or someone from NC on. But he honestly stated he didnt know where he was camped. But they did answer some good questions despite all the bad spammers out there. Well ,ready for next year????

good job all.

Squaw is AWESOME. I really liked Heavenly, but I ski most of the time, so I don't have any opinion on boarding out there.

have a safe ride home.

I'll be there tomorrow! Pm me your # if you're going to be there a few days.

I was thinking the same thing. He would have been on his lid in the same spot if it had not been for the buggy being there.

I got an e-mail this morning from Dave Cole about the letting a disqualified Shannon Campbell interfere with the racers still in the race. His reply was short and I had to translate the reply.

His reply: "It has been dealt with"

Translation: We at KOH have bent over backwards to kiss Shannon square on the ass also.

<><Fish

Seems like Will was actually the one who came out on top of the whole situation to me.

So basically, Shannon paid for Will's entry in the next KOH (true?), gave him two air shocks (cant be cheap) and 700$ to repair anything else on the rig, all at the expense of the respect and admiration of his fans....

Will also gained some good publicity out of it. Only thing was that he lost position in the race...BUT...he'll be back next year either way right?

I heard shannon also gave him a free buggy and a life long membership to the YMCA

Seriously guys...

We ended up coming out of this race about the same as we went in, with the exception of having a spot for next year...and now officially being the arch nemesis of shannon cambell.
