My take.
DQ'd = DQ'd get your ass off the course, run it for time at a later date.
Driving over Will...
* Not what I would have done, I would have allowed the crowd to rite him.

* But, in the whole driving over someone else thing. I think there needs to be some rules outlined. In that example there was no thumbs up etc.
* In another drive over event, the team was out of the rig doing repairs. I'm sure that had the ability to move to a safe location etc..
* My concern would be that was Will still safely in the seat belted in. Possibly he was in contact with someone telling him to stay put for a few minutes..

I await the fall out over the next week...
 
One thing for sure is that Will is going to get some good exposure out of this. Everybody out there is going to know Will Carter 52x and so will potential sponsors.

This will prove to be a close one. The PBB clique has the ablilty to start deleting threads when they are loosing. Camo is already name calling.... shouldn't be long now.

I'll say. He still has not commented on why he(Shannon) was still running wile he was DQ'd. Seems like he just does not want to admit that it was wrong because it was the "pirate way". I lost a lot of respect for Shannon and PBB after this. In my book that is not a competitor, it is a guy with a big head with a free ride that thinks the rules don't apply because he who he is. :fuck-you:Shannon

Doesn't seem much like a pass to me. Seems more like "Hey instead of waiting I'm going to ram and spin my tires on this guys buggy."

id really like to hear SHANNON'S explanation of what happened and if (and if so, who and why) he was given permission to keep running after being DQ'd and what his rational was for repeatedly smacking wills rig was when he couldnt "win" or even place for that matter.

my issue is not really the pass it self. I can almost guarantee there were worse "passes" than that during the race. it was the fact that the pass was made by a DQ'd driver "running it for time" and impeeding those that were still in the race
 
People need to remember that ultimately this all comes down to money.

How many sponsors of Will's were actively sponsoring KOH and Pirate4x4?

How many of Cambell's sponsors were actively sponsoring KOH and Pirate4x4?

Cambell's sponsors paid a lot of money for him and that rig to be seen out there, and they would be very unhappy to not have it make it even halfway through the course.

If the tables had been turned and Will had been DQ'ed and he ran over a non-DQ'dCambell, I have a feeling he wouldn't have made it back to NC alive.
 
I don't know Will personally, just from NC4x4. But, for anyone to think that incident was right is just an ignorant ass. had Shannon been in contention, I would have no issue with what he did, its part of racing.

I was home sick from work Thursday and Friday (really, I was REALLY sick!). I watched every minute of coverage and kept up with the blogs and was really rooting for Will and Robert. Only updates were for Will and he was doing good. Seeing the drama with Shannon going back out and Camo supporting this and not seeing how this "incident" is wrong just makes me sick, wether Shannon did it to Will or any other competitor.

Will has worked hard to get his low budget car put together and to have it and his position compromised by someone not in the race anymore really pisses me off. Everyone is up Shannon's ass, especially Lance and Camo. However Lance hasn't said anything on the issue yet, I'm sure he will have something to say. Although, he may be staying out of it as to not stirr the pot anymore.

It just pissed me off seeing this BS turn out like it did. I'm sure Will was taken care of as he said he has made amends, I guess. But, what Shannon did was just wrong and Camo thinking it is OK is just stupid and ignorant.
 
Im surprised that Lance hasnt chimed in as well unless he is just letting Camo be the idiot here. I would like to know where Will would have finished if this had not had happened.
another thing that pisses me off is....Shannon will probably say hes sorry and everyone will forget about it. Not me thats for damn sure.

That's how it goes down 80% of the time on the pbb.

And as much as I'd like to hear Will's side of the story, I think it's the better thing to do to keep to himself for now. Certainly keeps him from looking like some of the other people that constantly post in those threads looking like an idiot...
 
Well this is just pathetic... :shaking:

SC had something to prove... he was out WAY EARLY and well the amount of face time/$$/sponsors, etc. that he had riding on him he had to finish the race...

What he did was absolultely pathetic... had he been in contention then yeah hurry up and make a pass... repeatedly ramming Will was just flat out wrong any way you look at it...

Hopefully it'll make it's round and Will will get something out of it...

Still just pathetic... Maybe they can start side/by/side next year :fuck-you:
 
well hopefully with all the media/thread/forum coverage of the mishap plastered all over the world,Wills name is definitely out there.This is good potential for some sponsorship for 2010.

well damn, just damn. looks like its another 'who you are/know' thing. screw Camo and the PBB elitists. theyve lost track of reality. Barack cant walk on water and neither can they, no matter what they think. meanwhile the PBB sticker comes off the CJ.
good job Will, kick their ass next year. goes to show how well the URE cross went that we didnt have issues like this- broke/stuck/DNF classified rigs stayed put during racing.
