Lawn and Landscape

We have some new-ish neighbors that have cats that stay outside the majority of the time and our mole population has made a sharp decline in the past year and a half. Now if I could keep the cats from walking on my cars.....

Red rider BB gun... I may or may not know how well they work for this purpose.

What kind did you buy?

This is what I bought last year, but then never put down.

To apply this product you should water your lawn so the soil is moist and the grass blades are wet. Apply when grass blades are wet and a couple of days before you mow. It is systemic and needs to absorb into the grass blades. It has maybe a 14 day period where it can prevent and cure some fungus. As Guffey said try some Headway next time, it will do a much better job. Since you have to apply this when the grass is wet, use some rubber boots please.

I have a question about ants. Seems like i have seen a large number of ants and ant hills in my yard this yr. Is this an issue? Does this indicate anything about the soil/lawn? Suggestions other than just putting out the ant repellent stuff?

I'm no help, but the guy at work who sits across from me is having more trouble with ants this year than ever before.

I normally have some, but this yr it seems 10x normal.

Ants do a lot of good things. If you have lots of regular ants, fireants will usually stay away.

I think the early hot spell got them out early this year. Ants are good until they're bad! lol Fire ants and carpenter ants mainly as the bad ones. I spray Carpenter ants and bait fire ants. On fire ants if you don't disturb the mound but bait around it as the directions say, you can get pretty good results.

I put out the merit for grubs 2 weeks ago. Their damage is showing up now and getting worse. Anything else that will nuke them this late in the game while I still have some chance of recovery?

Your damage is probably fungus. it is rampant right now. Post up a couple pics please.
It was too dark to take pics on my way out this morning but since you mentioned that I googled and it looks like the pics online.
What's the recommended chemical for that, anything good enough at the big stores or am I off to SiteOne?

Siteone. Headway is a good granular but it needs to be applied when the grass is a little wet so it can absorb into the leaves. Or they can recommend some liquids but you have to have the right sprayer for those, a backpack is not the right one.

Have some bare spots from where I removed my willow oak last year. How should I take care of these.
