Anyone with HBO plan on watching this documentary? I have always been a fan of MJ's music. I think his album "History" was the 1st CD I ever got and always thought he was a fascinating person. I always thought MJ was probably the only person that literally people all over the world knew of. I will admit that the dude was totally weird and really none of the allegations against him surprised me that much. This documentary is supposedly about 2 men that were allegedly molested by Jackson when they were young.

I don't have HBO, but I'd like to see it.

I was in 5th grade when Thriller came out. All the black kids had the P'leather jackets and Jerry curls. Even white kids were sporting some of his swag (think Corey Feldman) My best friend at the time (Brian Bitting) wore michael jackson swag every day. I think he had the glove on for over a week. He could move like him...was skinny like him, but had an afro instead of curls.

MJ was HUGE (trump voice) with my generation

Then the accusations of molestation started occurring. People my age couldn't believe it. I wasn't SHOCKED..I mean, he grew up in a bubble. Still though, NO excuse for touching a child!!!

I blame him...but I also blame the parents of those boys. No way in HELL my child would have gone to a sleepover with an adult. No if, ands, or buts.....certainly no BUTTS

Yeah, I thought about getting HBO for the month of march just to watch it and then cancel afterwards.
I believe that no one has lived a life like MJ did... to be that famous and that talented at such a young age is unfathomable. Not to say he was justified on what he did/didn't do, but what a life this man must have led.

So, I gather this documentary is about michael jordan selling the Hornets to someone with some financial sense finally?????

So..all of you guys are considering MJ guilty?
Even after the courts/jurors didnt?

Wow! ...is it cause he's black and had more money and talent than all you'll ever dream of?...or is it something else?

MJ didnt do it...but OJ did.

So yall can just beat it.

Was Michael Jackson guilty? No. He got off easy. :)

I have no interest in watching that movie. I was born in 74, so was prime age for getting into music when MJ hit it big in the 80's. I mostly listened to top 40 and rock at that time and loved all the hits like Beat It, Billy Jean, Thriller, Smooth Criminal etc. I remember wanting that red jacket.

There is a decent movie about the Jackson 5 and MJ on Youtube.

Growing up, it was Jackson 5. Didnt like them then, never liked MJ solo.

Monroe, Watson, Scruggs was my thing then, and now.

Edit: btw....GUILTY

After the album "Off the wall" he lost me. I was never much into pop and top 40. Weird mofo for sure, but no doubt talented. If it wasn't 60-70s rock back then I had no use for it.

So they documentary is about two guys that claim to be molested by MJ. There was no actual proof.

So what would it take? How much would MJ have to pay you to molest you?

Something I've never understood when it comes to celebrities/entertainers is: why give a shit about them on a personal level??? I understand that's a loaded question, that's what fanaticism is about, and I'm in the extreme minority. But even as a child, I had my favorite players, favorite bands, etc etc...but I was never interested in trying to mimic them or even care who/what they were outside of whatever it was that they did that entertained me. They were a name that did something to divert my attention from something else, I probably couldn't even tell you what they looked like at the time. To put this in perspective (at least my perspective), Michael Jackson is to 40 year olds as Justin Timberlake is to 30 year olds as Justin Bieber is to 20 year olds. Every target age groups thinks their entertainers are the only good ones. If this documentary weren't about an entertainer, none of us would be talking about it.

I'm in the extreme minority

If so...there's at least 2 of us.

There are bands that I know the first and last name of all the members. But I never cared about their politics, their person beliefs, or what they did on the weekends. Even if they were into everything I was, it never made them more appealing to me. Same with actors, or anyone on the local news that I may see out in a restaurant.

I've known famous people, and had friends that knew REALLY famous people. It just doesn't excite me like it seems to everyone else. I don't GET "starstruck" Hence why I can't see why these parents were so willing to shove their kids into MJ's lap

I don't get star struck either but I think MJ was on some sort of different level when it came to actually how famous he was. Like I said in my original post... I am sure you could go out to most any country around the world and they would know who MJ was. Do I believe that he did any of that stuff? I dunno. I go back and forth. It would never surprise me if it came out 100% that he did do it. To me, he was one of those once in a lifetime performers. I never get tired of watching the dude dance.

Make that 3 of us

I will never forget where I was when he died. I was with some of the guys on my crew in an Irish bar in Amman Jordan drunk off my ass when everyone around started sobbing uncontrollably. We were asked to leave when I said good riddance to the homo pedophile. He had fans all over the world that were crazy about anything MJ.

You are showing your specific age here. He is "that guy" to you.
Every generation has that.

The best way I can describe this is an example. I was riding down the road with an old friend a few days after Dale Earnhardt died. This dude would have been early 60s I guess then. We were listening to a country radio station and they were closed . No music just callers and the DJs talking about Dale. I sear they did this for 2-3 solid days. Anyway a caller called in and said he was in shock that it was like Michael Jordan had died. My old friend got visibly angry and said "That guy is a f&&(ing moron. He was much bigger than that. The only thing that compares is maybe when Elvis died"...to my friend Elvis was a bigger name than Jordan. To a kid of the 80s that sounds insane.
Jackson was world famous, no doubt. But more so than Elvis, The Beatles, Insert current pop star here...I dont think so.

Did he do it?
I dont know. Initially I thought for sure...because hes weird enough. But when the one dude was found to have framed him and paid others to make up claims as well...you just wonder.

I don't even think it has a be a 'that guy' generational talent...just topic of interest. How many guys here claim to not watch tv/movies because it's stupid...but when Burt Reynolds died, by God...those same folks seemed familiar with his work. Same with old boy that just died that was on Truck Night in America...how many folks rushed to google to find out what happened??? Not saying deaths aren't sad or the folks affected don't have my condolences, but I just don't understand having to know that much about somebody that doesn't even know you exist, and will literally have no impact on your life ever.

Just Google Larry Kings involvement in the trials. He wasnt allowed to testify on behalf of the defense (MJ) for whatever reason, but swears on his own life he had proof of Jacksons innocence.
