Wife's retiring. I really wanted a garage. We almost went with a custom Sundowner trailer. But COVID hit and their prices went up by 50%. So we compromised on the camper. The CJ5 fits and the amenities aren't bad.
Funny how the camper makes the megacab look small.
btw, it doesn't ride high in the front. there's a crown in the parking lot.

Wife’s truck. It’s rated for it. Kaufman Premium 8.5x24’ rated at 10k. Decked it out with my comforts and there’s more to add soon enough. List of additions:
-fridge
-microwave
-shower
-cassette toilet
-bed
-table and cabinet for kitchen duties

I know You plan on sleeping/eating, and so on. I knw you plan o a shower. Will you have fold down bed(s)? Is the fridge gonna be a multi-powered unit? From current lay out, I assume you are gonna have a gen you just put outside on the ground to power it. I also assume some batteries somewhere. Any plans for some solar panels? How much storage or in those floor access areas?

So the CJ5 fits in the camper???
I've thought about looking at something like that and wondered. Got any pics of the 5 in it?
What is the trailer weight?

Here’s round one of accessories. The fridge and microwave are simple 120V stuff for when I’m hooked to shore power.

Sleeping arrangements are this tri-fold king size mattress that I’ll lay out on the floor once the buggy is offloaded.

The onboard battery is a deep cycle version that powers the overhead LED lights, thermostat, scene light, and the awning. No plans to add solar panels. And yes, there’ll be a generator in my future.

The two boxes in the floor are designed by Kaufman to store a spare tire, but I prefer to have them accessible. They were so cheap to add to the build list, I couldn’t pass up the storage.

Currently the DIY shower is stored on top of the overhead cabinet. More details on it later when I get the water heater installed and plumbed.

I’m also adding a few aluminum organizing gadgets. So far, I’ve got the strap rack and this shelf / paper towel holder combo.

I wish Ford would do a green on the Super Duty line again. What year and color is that?
It's a 2013 & dark green...?? 🤷‍♂️

I don't have the VIN handy or I'd look

Yep when I was looking that was one I was looking for. When I would search there would be lots of 250's but only a hand full of Green ones. I think I saw 2016 was the last year they offered green.

The 2015 & 2016 green they used is one of my all time favorite colors…pretty sure it was called Green Gem Metallic for those years.

Yep that was the color I was looking to get. I found that if a site had 20 or 30 trucks less then 5 would be green.

I always liked the green that GM used on the HD trucks as well. Also wasn't super common apparently.

Even the 03-07 slate blue and the later, similar, but different slate blue-like color. They have some interesting names that I have to Google every time.

Ram had a nice green color in the early 2010's as well. Wonder why the color fell off across the board?
