Lift order to door time

So my buddy ordered a 2.5" re lift 2 and a half weeks ago. He's been calling and getting the "its shipped" routine for about a week and he calls again this morning and they tell him it should ship today and will be another 5 business days so he prob won't see it until monday or tues of next week is my guess. Is it normal for lifts to take 3+ weeks from order date to arrival?
 
Whenever you are told "it's shipped", always ask for a tracking # or some way to confirm it, right then.
If they can't give that to you, then it's probably B.S.
It's understandable for a part to be backordered and have a wait from the mfr... however if that is the case, the supplier should tell you and not lie about "it's shipped".
 
Have they bille dthe CC. If so I would call and raise hell and ask for tracking info. if the cant provide that i cancel.
 
Yea I actually just called in for him. I was told that today was the first day it would ship if it did and there would be an email sent with a tracking number. F'n BS! Weeks of sitting around waiting for a lift to install for him and the stock leafs that I've needed for my soa are on his freaking jeep. Glad I had everything else ready for the soa and now my jeep will just sit for a total of 2 weeks undriven.
 
Not going to say at the moment on the boards. I like this company and while I've never ordered from them online I respect the company. Its partly his fault for not taking care of this in a store but he was out of town when he made the order. I'm going to post the name but if you really want to know pm me. If he wants to put the name up then he can post it himself(another board member).

*Order was placed on the 17th and processed on the 19th
*He was told early last week that it shipped.
*Called on wed and was told that it was shipped to florida and was being directed to him and should be there asap. Was going to track down a tracking # and call back. Evidently they never did.
*I Called today and was told they just got 2 in on the 29th and today would have been the first day it could ship if it does and that he would recieve an email with a tracking # when one was assigned. He said there was no way of confirming that it was going ship nor to get a tracking #.


So by my math thats 11 business days just to get it out IF IT ships today when he was told it would go out asap. So assuming it goes out today and it takes 5 business days thats 16 business days and 24 days overall to recieve. Nuts imho!
 
well from that post, its obvious who the company is...

If it IS 4wp (dont have to say so if you dont choose) you could have had the parts delivered to the Raleigh store for free shipping, and its fast.

It is possible they were qouting the dates they would receive the parts form the manufacturer but i really have no way to verify. Its situations like this that separate the local stores from the .com catalog lookey-lews.
Please fellas buy l;ocally whenever possible, from us or another reputable shop. You will find the service is far better up to and after the sale.

Exactly why I wasn't going to name the company. I have no doubt that this wouldn't have happened had it been ordered locally. None the less it was a pita and I didn't want anything I said to reflect as if the raleigh store was involved. Not life, death, or money at risk so whatever. The OP was just trying to figure out if this was a norm. I personally think the raleigh store is great and love having it close.

Hit the nail on the head. I've had 4wp issues mailorder etc. in the past, but haven't heard many complaints from Greg's store. Dealing locally will always get you better service, whether it's face to face, over the phone, or whatever. As many reputable shops as there are in NC, many of us willing to bend over backward to help you, there's no reason to go mailorder in most cases. :beer:

Greg, for those of us who do not live near teh store, can we call the store and talk to one of your boyz, and have a part shipped directly to us, just like w/ the catalog, rather than having to mess w/ going through Raleigh? I assume this would incur tax, but that's no big deal (Supposed to pay tax on all things purchased anyway...)
 
Yes 4wp in Raleigh will ship to us guys locally. Greg and his crew really stepped up to the plate with my order. Fox changed there way of doing business(no longer stocking built shocks, made to order now), Gregs guys called them everyday because they told me 2-3 bus. days and took 14 days. Everyday I got a follow up phone call from his guys until fox gave them a tracking number. His guys went way out of there way to take care of this, plus they match a lower price. Greg, I have never had a chance to say thanks, never really had a post I felt it would help. THANKS again.....

Yes we can drop ship to your home no problem. The only thing thats different from us and mail order is that now you can drive down here and strangle us when we screw up(occasionally it can happen). try that thru the phone or computer. also your dollars support your local store which we in turn try to support as many local events as possible as well as have a few of our own. Please give us a chance to provide you with your next vehicle parts or service purchase.

Ive had a set of 4 BFG's and wheels ordered through 4wp at the Charlotte store.

I ordered them over the phone so I could get a discount on em (got the price at Tire Rack, and 4wp price matched). Went down to charlotte the next day to pick em up.

One of the tires was actually mounted the wrong way, white letters out, and they were more than willing to flip the tire the right way, no questions asked.
