Well this is my 8th lifted XJ, I love them! RE 3.5 w/ front spacer, full pack leafs rear. 17" AEV wheels and BFG KM2 265/70R17 TIRES. (RE Track bar comming)

The Jeep was rear ended in CT early Monday morning. I was going 53 and they hit me so fast it felt like I was standing still. I instantly got pushed into the passing lane and flipped. I skidded on my roof before coming to a stop. I was trapped in the vehicle for ten minutes as my seat belt wouldn't unbuckle and the car that hit me fled. Cars and trucks swerved around me but no one stopped for ten minutes, I was so afraid I was going to get hit again, and be killed... plus I smelt an electrical fire. I'm very lucky to be alive and the Jeep kept me safe.

Holy crap man. Glad you're ok. Was there anyone else with you and were there any witnesses? Looks like it held up pretty well considering. Now you can buy it back cheap, cut the top off, cage it and wheel the piss out of it. :huggy:

whoa, thats amazing. Glad it wasnt worse than it could've been.
I drive I-95 in CT about yearly to visit my folks. Coming out of NYC, its nuts, if you're not going 80, you're gonna get run over (or under).
 
Thanks guys, I posted this not for sympathy (however I appreciate everyone's concern) but to show what a great vehicle the XJ is, and how it protected me and saved me. I'm sure if I was driving a Honda Civic the outcome would not have been the same. I knew there was a reason I've owned 11 of these so far since their introduction in 1984. :driver:
 
Man I hate to see that!! Hope that 12pk of diet dew didnt smack ya when ya flipped! So do ya know what kinda car hit you? im guessing it was a car and not a truck since there is no visible rear end damage? It looks like whatever hit you slid underneath and knocked your tailpipe down which must have given the force to flip you. I hope the catch the ahole that did it, he/she was probably drunk, driving w/o a license or had no insurance but I cant beleive no one stopped to help!

Yep, no soon I was hit i was already flipping, that's my guess too. Luckily no groceries hit me, but all the cans got busted except one.
