I had a blast racing the last race of the season at Devils Playground, even though I wrecked on the second lap. We really wanted to come race and see what ECORS was all about.

I want to race the whole entire series next year beacuse its off road racing that I can afford and be competitive so its time to build a full on race car....

It also gives me a direction to go in for building myself a buggy to go have fun at trail rides....

Here is what we are working with....

1985 Toyota Pickup Truck that has been thrashed over and over again and finally rolled last night at CCB at Golden Mountain Park.... Sparta Tennessee

Stock 22R......................... Good Running Condition
Stock W56 Trans................ Case is Cracked
Stock Frame....................... All Broked up
Stock Shock Mounts............. Ripped off the frame
3 Shocks............................ 1 isn't dented
Bed................................... Trash
Cab................................... Trash
29 Inch Tires....................... Still hold air
Seats................................. SUCK
Drive Shafts........................ All messed up
Stock Axle Housings............. Good Condition
Exhaust.............................. Buggered up 12 times
Gas Tank............................ Too big and ugly
Stock Leaf Springs................ Broke

I plan to build off of the stock frame and create a racecar that will resemble a short course off road racing chassis but not so much because they are strictly business and have no style

Here are some pictures of a short course pro light truck that I used to pit with back when Lucas Oil Off Road Racing was CORR

Awesome, can't wait to see it run. It will be nice to see someone throw some real fab skills at a Toyota. Mine is held together with zip ties and super glue and can still manage to win races. You should do well, just keep it super light.

I don't have any pictures of yet after it got rolled down a hill and hit a bronco buggy

The drifting and donut show almost topped the XJ doing its best lawn dart impression during the jump contest. It was cool to see you thrash on this thing. Keeping it light is the way to make one of these survive ECORS it seems.

I most definatly plan to build it light, but at he same time I want to build it super safe and super strong at all the key stress points. This way I can drive it how ever I'd like and only have to worry about breaking leaf springs and boulders....:driver:
As far as the fabrication goes, it will look pretty much like this. I've never mig welded an entire chassis before so thats exciting.
I don't know what I'm going to do about sheet metal yet, but I do know it will get side panels for stickers and such.... and MIGHT get a hood.
I'm stoked about the new ways and tricks I've discovered welding aluminum, and can't wait to build the fuel cell and a hood if it gets one

That MIG work is pretty close to perfect.

I just want to say that watching this thing come hauling @$$ up the BIG rock that people where standing on at the DPG race was AMAZING. It came up the rock like flat ground! that was a c-class line right? I enjoyed EVERY second that thing was out on the track!!

Don't waste your time with those terrible welds, bring that junk down here and I'll hot glue gun(MIG) it together for ya, or we can get a couple of batteries and some jumper cables to weld it up.:flipoff2:

That was definitely impressive and got my blood flowing watching it

As Team 111 scrambled to get our xj off the rocks, I too had a "whoa shit adam did you see that yota go flying across the rock" moment. That was followed by a "damnit why didnt we hit that line instead of bail into the abyss of jagged rocks & grass below."

That is MIG Travis :shaking:

Nice welds.
i'd give a left nut to weld like that.

BTW I guess I didn't explain that those are not my welds and that is not my work.... I just found those pictures on another site because I wanted to explain what I was doing and what it will look like. Props to the dude that did them and I don't know him....

I still haven't got chance to get close up pictures of after it was rolled:shaking:
