My family and I are looking for some good folks to go wheeling with. The gents I usually wheel with aren't into the family thing. We usually camp unless camping is unavailable. I am looking to trail test a new ARB soon, if anyones interested let me know.
I can not say for sure but our club is family type. well, some of the older guys that go out and have fun... but the younger guys can get a tad out of hand sometimes. If you ever head to URE let me know, I might have some guys going up that way
We have been to ure many times. After I get my new carrier installed we will be up for a trip. We have also been to Tellico, Crozet, Raush Creek and Callalantee/Craker neck. My son is only three but he is set up pretty safe in the back. We are up for about anything.
Our daughter has been wheeling with us since she was 2. (By the time she was 5 she had already rode shotgun in Moab.) She will be 9 in a couple weeks and likes to go with us to URE -we usually go at least 3-4 times a year. Let us know the next time you go.....we were talking yesterday about heading down that way soon.
Last time I was at URE my kids left to hang out with kids they met there. Of course before they left i met the parents. I went wheeling and the wife stayed in the camp to wait for the kids. By the time I got back the kid were till gone.
If you mean this site: nc4x4.. sponsor stuff is for those under 21
if you mean cnc4x4.. then yes we require a sponsor.. IE: all events are open to all but to be a paid member we want you to get a long with us and us to get along with you
I was thinking that too. And even the guys that don't have kids tend to be the sort that I wouldn't mind having my kids around. From the trips I've joined I haven't seen any drinking and driving, reckless behavior, and I think I'm the only club member that knows any curse words.
Just come along with use on a ride or club event. Sponsorship is not hard to get. We just have some club rules and that is one of them.
Hey they let me Join.

Uhwarrie National Forest, pronounced URE. (That and it's a lot easier to spell.) It's down closer to Charlotte. Not much of a mud bog, but more of a trail ride with a bit of rock crawlin' thrown in. It can get muddy and be really slick and tough, but it's relatively easy for a modified vehicle. Can be done with a stock vehicle with the right driver.
