Lots of interesting news today

WGN News: Homicide Trial of Kyle Rittenhouse - Day 2 AM.

If y'all are bored, here's a link to the Rittenhouse trial. I just saw the Prosecutions 5th witness testify for the defense and describe a textbook case for self defense. The poor prosecutor tried to object a few times and got shut down because the statements were part of the police report. The defense attorney also laid out how the police illegally obtained the witness's cellphone 🤦.

Following that, the prosecutor redirected and tried to bumble through an FBI video that still shows Rittenhouse being chased down by the first guy shot with other people assembling a mob coming toward him. It was like he was trying to discredit his own witness but couldn't. Because no matter how many times you play a specific 20 second clip it still looks like a mob of rioters, even from 8500 feet away.

I guess the only question is, why the DA even thought there would be suitable evidence to bring this to trial.

Because of politics.
Not just politics, but the precedent it will set both legally and for the public.

With the frequency and severity of some of the rioting we've seen over the last year or two, this is an important turning point no matter which direction the case goes.

You're right about that. The money everyone put towards the defense attorney is well spent for legal precedent. The witness being questioned was a VLOG guy that had been filming with his phone throughout the day. He spent a long time detailing that at the time of the incident the Fire Dept. and EMT services were completely overwhelmed and there were private citizens operating as makeshift teams on the ground with pressure washers and bucket brigades puting out fires and people with medkits patrolling the area (like Rittenhouse). It demonstrates that at the time a reasonable person would have to assume "you're on your own" and the services of private citizens were the only thing keeping the entire area from going up in flames. That was really when the prosecution started fidgeting.

I was walking thru the bedroom as my wife was watching morning news on my way out the door. Michael Strayhan was saying "A mostly WHITE Jury will hear opening arguments in the Kyle Rittenhouse case today"

I didn't have time to test my blood pressure this morning....as I was late for an eye appointment ....so I just walked away

The judge has made it clear what he thinks about the media reporting. He has called them all out and used his "instructions to the jury" to highlight media bias and outright lies.

I finally figured out what yesterday's trial reminded me of. It was exactly like the movie Sleepers. It's like the prosecutor is feeding the defense.

And what a trashbag:
He is 100% POS. Ran initially on the fact his girlfriend was shot on live TV. Then proceeded to get pulled for DUI shortly after taking Oath. Failed field sobriety and blew .085. Cop told him to go to Walmart nearby, drink water, and sober up. Pure definition of garbage.

Election signs are a waste of money anyway. They don't convince anyone to change their opinion.
