Lots of interesting news today

I wonder what they are gonna do to censure the troops they “loaned” to Russia when they come back full of booze and internet pern
I doubt there is any real expectation they will return

I know it’s obvious, but I can’t help myself…

Where was this unwaivering support when Helene came through? I guess the citizenry class of WNC was not worthy of gov support.

I’ll see myself out.

The wife and I were talking about something similar last night. She said, I wonder if the rest of the country saw the same amount of coverage about Helene as we are seeing about the wildfires?

The difference is, certain people stand to make alot more money if folks in WNC dont/cant return to their homes vs CA.

Fires last for days, and are easier to film then a hurricane flooding in a largely remote area without as much density of damage to people

People saw coverage for a couple days of Western NC then it we back to normal, when the fires are out, the same thing will happen here.

The problem isn't the support that Cali is getting, the problem is the lack of support that NC got, and continues to not get. That's our tax money being blown on stupid shit in a hundred other countries in the world, and God knows how many pork belly projects here, but not being used for what it was intended for.
Let's not kid ourselves, it's being used for exactly what it was intended to be used for.

Unfortunately this author's use of Burdick v. United States is no longer valid. Too bad bc that would be awesome.
That case was actually about the question of whether a pardon MUST be accepted by the person to whom it is tendered; e.g. may they choose to reject it. The notion that acceptance is an impunance of guilt was only in the dicta (commentary) of the case and not a key component of the ruling, and thus doesn't necessarily answer that question. That notion was brought into question by another case in 2021.

This is a pretty interesting read

The best irony being that this was all trigger by Trump's pardons 🤦‍♂️
Maybe something more recently has happened, I quit wasting time researching.

It doesn't matter who pardons who, or who is actually proven innocent or guilty in court because everything is already decided in the court of public opinion and peoples minds are certain and unwavering.
yep

And yet again I can't decide if this post needs a Like or Sad emoji.

Got me thinking and found this rather nerdy read.

Dollar General is scamming everyone. I'm not surprised. Pretty sure I've experienced it myself. On one hand, it's what I expect from a poorly run, disorganized store with constantly changing inventory and mismatched price tags and shelf placement. On the other hand, if it is systematic and intentional, we should burn them all down.
