What I find fascinating is how well connected all countries and companies etc have to stay in order to prevent this from becoming a majpr problem. Imagine the mass chaos that would ensue if all GPS systems, satellites, etc were based off of different reference frames.
using geomagnetic centered mapping has enabled all kinds of great things but it also permanently tethers us to tracking this very closely.

This is potentially a really big deal

The BLUF is that if China can already do AI models at a much lower cost (in efficiency, which really means dollars) then the whole plan of staying ahead by restricting technology access via embargo and secrecy is a huge waste of time.
Frankly among those in the DoD AI world (I'm tangential) its no surprise bc its always been their MO to just develop things faster, cheaper and they have 10x the people and resources working in this space.

Can you download and post the original pics in better quality? If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing, that is insane!

Just for you

Insane is an understatement. Especially considering the whole "minor injuries " deal!

It's a miracle dude is alive at all, much less with minor injuries.
I'll be surprised if it's not severely damaged. Second one in a couple months of it is. Shallowford bridge over 421 was just repaired from a knarly wreck that hit a pylon.
