Lots of interesting news today

There by guaranteeing an expensive stay at the hospital the state will have to cover before getting their ass sued...

Great way to add several 10's of thousands to every arrest made..

Don't point a gun at someone you aren't ready to shoot.

Don't shoot someone you aren't ready to kill.

That simple set of rules should apply to anyone holding a gun, and should be no different for a LEO than a CCW civilian.

Its not. You shoot to stop the aggressive act that justified a deadly force response. NCGS15a-401d2 makes no exceptions for LEO's except Corrections Officers can shoot a fleeing felon from escape.

Not saying it isn't different, saying it shouldn't be... If a LEO uses 'Deadly Force' it should be deadly. I understand it can't be so cut and dried, and that a LEO has to make a split second decision while he's holding that gun after deciding deadly force was merited, but if there was a question of what he needed to draw in the first place, there are a number of less than lethal choices that could be employed instead. Sleepy Joe is suggesting shooting people in the legs with a gun when the LEO should have drawn a tazer instead of a gun.

I'm confused...How do the GPD have the authority to suspend 2A?

Legit question...I'm no legal eagle (where IS Susan when you need her?)

Greensboro: police ban weapons at protests

It is a state law. No weapons at demonstrations. Here is the Statute.

According to our statutes, yes, it is. G.S. 14-277.2 prohibits the possession of firearms and other dangerous weapons at parades or demonstrations on public property:

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person participating in, affiliated with, or present as a spectator at any parade, funeral procession, picket line, or demonstration upon […] any public place owned or under the control of the State or any of its political subdivisions to willfully or intentionally possess or have immediate access to any dangerous weapon. Violation of this subsection shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor. […]
(b) For the purposes of this section the term “dangerous weapon” shall include those weapons specified in G.S. 14-269, 14-269.2, 14-284.1, or 14-288.8 or any other object capable of inflicting serious bodily injury or death when used as a weapon.

So if I'm leaving the office and turn down the wrong road on the way home....am I now in violation because I'm on a public street being surrounded by protesters that are being corralled by police? (not being snarky..legit question...BLM has been blocking streets in WS every evening)

Tough question. If you are not a participant you can carry but if you had to use it might be difficult convincing them you were just passing through. I have us law shield and will let them deal with it.

Trump vs. Mattis, + all 4 past living President's.
It would be a pretty entertaining cage match, for sure. Especially as tag team, w Mattis held back til last.

In which xase the others would win only if they could run around wo Trump getting a swing in before he either got bored or had a heart attack

Your vehicle itself makes you guilty...

All the more reason that I'm happy that I moved out of Durham and into Rockingham County.
