I watched my Papaw, grandad that was a father figure to me, and larger than life in general to everyone that knew him, die of lung cancer. He went from a man that could do anything to being bed ridden, not being able to do anything. Speak, swallow, breath, nothing. Right before my eyes. Then I saw an uncle from the other side of my family go the exact same way the next week, and a grandmother from skin cancer a year to date later. I’ve seen it several other ways in my time, knowing and un-knowing it was coming, and it’s never good and you can never prepare for it. You accept it and go on, some may take longer, some may stay with you till your end, but it’s going to happen. 98% of people will die sometime in their life.

Given your career choice, I imagine you could virtue shame motorcycle riders, fast car drivers, gun owners....etc and say you've seen your fair share of ALL of them die over the rest if us.

But as with the rest, 96% of us will survive it. I survived 20 years of motorcycle racing, 40 yrs of gun ownership, and 33yrs of driving a car like an idiot. So far I'm beating ALL the odds

Exactly. Shit happens every day. No death is a good one.
 
Social interaction is dangerous.
But my day sucked. So I pulled the 65 out and went for a drive.
Along highway 97, where it crosses over bullocks creek, in that long upward sloping straight away I laid into it and the needle buried ..damn it was cathartic.

Seriously 2 years of life worries lifted. Make no mistake if a tire blew or a steering link snapped. Or, or, or...there would have been no need for an ambulance just a shovel and a trash truck. I don't have a death wish. But the risk was worth the release.

I legitimately thanked God for my freedoms at the dinner table tonight and the free will to release my tensions..

Tomorrow isn't promised for any of us.
As with every adult choice, your results, decisions and priorities may vary.

The statement in no way refutes what is on that slide pic. They say they didn't create it and it wasn't a "diversity training class"....but they do NOT deny it was at their facility and was a class or meeting of some sort.
And they don't deny what it says. All they say is they don't hate the police, basically.

They're going to have to do better than that, because what's on that slide...if it's true? That's some BS.

That was damage control and “come on guys, don’t make us lose our nascar sponsorship to Hoosier again” and hurt our profits in this time of need etc.
 
I can kind of understand the logic of what was intended now.
They don't want any political stuff. OK, that's not abnormal. Most businesses don't. Fuck Up #1 was not also including Biden in the list on the right, so it was balanced. Result is that Twitter-in-Chief sees it just as a knock on him, goes off the rails.

The real fuck up is in specifically picking an "issue" to support while blocking others. E.g. diversity issues = OK, LEO safety issues = not ok. Should have just left that alone. I do wonder if there was concern that not supporting diversity would be seen as an EEO problem. But again... just don't mention it....

Have to keep in mind that while BLM has become politicized and is supported much more by one party than another, it is not officially in itself a political party.
 
That’s the whole point! To say Black lives matter, but not Blue is ok. That’s the biggest issue, at least for me. Second would be giving examples of only one party as wrong when your “allowed” items are overwhelming supported by the opposite party.

BLM is in fact 100% political, everyone knows this, doesn't matter if it's "official" or not.

You can argue what it originally was or wanted to be, but it has transformed into a political tool.

All that matters to a company is the legal definition, which it does not meet.
Once you go outside that all hell breaks loose full of gray areas and what-ifs.

What is not apparent from the slide, and from Goodyear's message is that the slide I think is talking about what employees can wear to work, (Note it says "MAGA attire" and Political "Slogans")

So really it's not Zero Tolerance.... They should have just said "No Printed Clothing or Hats"
