This ride has been put together quickly for Scott Fields, he is battling cancer and is in need of our help. There are very few in the wheeling comunity who have not been influenced by him in a positive way. Scott is the reason many of our best trails in Uwharrie even exist. Scott has also done so much for the veteran comunity, Scott helped us get the Veterans ride off the ground.

Please come out and support the event, all proceeds go directly to Scott to cover medical cost , bills, and support his family.

This ride is being put together by True Patriot and the Carolina Trail Blazers, and many other freinds.

Special thanks to...

Is there a link or contact person to buy raffle tickets yet or will they only be available the day of the event?

Please come out and support Scott Fields and his family in there time of need. Scott has been so influential in the wheeling community and made NC wheelin what it is today. Many of your favorite trails, Dickey Bell, Dutch John, Dickey Bell. etc.. would not exist if it wasn't for Scott coordinating with the forest service and cutting those trails by hand in an old Dodge truck. He has coordinated all of the Uwharrie jamborees along with being instrumental in bringing the Jeep Jamboree to Uwharrie.
I would have never been able to get the veterans ride off of the ground if not for him helping me and giving me a place to do it at the Uwharrie Training Center. Scott is one of those people that will simply give you the shirt off of his back and never asked for it in return.

He has two wonderful children, the son is in his freshman year at Appalachian State, the daughter is a senior in high school, they are both wonderful children and I am sure it has been very hard on them watching their father go through his treatments for mesothelioma. Let's make this a great event and keep Scott's family going strong.

To all vendors, and anyone on an individual basis, your support for the raffle on Saturday at 6 p.m. is badly needed. If there are any items that someone would like to personally donate or if there are any vendors that are interested in donating please know that this is 100% proceeds going to Scott Fields and his family immediately after the ride is over.

Wish this was a different weekend, this is topless day and many of us are going to Wilmington for the event.

Not to late to change plans , the SFWDA June Meet-N-Ride hosted by CTB on June 23 will be another ride to help raise money for Scott. We would love for CNC, along with others, to come out to that. To prevent from cluttering this thread I will post an event thread after Trail Feast next weekend when the rest of the details are worked out.

Definitely a possibility for June 23rd. That is the same weekend as Big Dogs in Gore but it is not an official club event and usually is only lightly attended by club members. We can figure something out.

I am an FFL and could get a rifle or shotgun to raffle pretty cheaply for one of these events.

We talked about that....the problem was if the winner was in NY state or Cali

Would another (WAY LIBERAL) state be an issue?

Yeah any state that we do not have reciprocity with for CHP probably has funky rules. Simply put in the raffle rules that it is the winners responsibility to insure it is legal in their state. If an out of state person won it, I could send it to their dealer for them to take possession.

Seems like CNC should do the stand-up thing and move their May 19 ride to Uwharrie.

Sure if someone wants to give me back the money i paid for a house at the beach, lol. Sure we will do something for the june ride and you might get some people from CNC because not all of us are going to Wilmington.

I still can't find out where to find how to join the May 19th ride.

I am part of CNC4x4 and I would be happy to Join the Ride - I saw James up at "Wheelin for Hope" and we chatted about it. I been to several Big Creek Ice Breaker events and interacted with Scott and I wish to help.

Regards,
Martin

I am re-read the the Original post and this is only available on site at the location Uwharrie events center starting at Friday at 10 am -and the guided it rides start on Saturday with a $50 donation. Not sure I can make it there Friday - but will be there Sat May 19th.

I will be there and I'll donate a nice leather jacket in as a raffle prize.

I can't add much to what Jason and others have said except that Scott has always been a good friend to my family and I. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family during this difficult time.

I've been looking at our family schedule. Looks like I am supposed to travel with them to Florida for our niece's graduation. Leaving Friday and returning monday.
However...I have permission to attend this benefit for Scott, but I'll have to leave URE sat night and hi tail it to florida. No problem!
