Similar thing on my way home from Uwharrie, this Saturday night. Just before coming in Mt.Pleasant, I start hearing this droning noise. Sound like a straight pipe motorcycle, at 60 mph. But nope none around. I turn down the radio, no change; I open a window, too much wind noise. Could it be; yep, some compact black car, several hundred feet ahead. Is it stuck in first or second gear. Is it trying to incite a race? It Did, seem to pace me, as it stayed ahead. Really, I didn't want to get close anyway! Slowed for a couple lights, but as far as I could see, it was, or something like a Porsche, with twin Trumpets, outside of the centered license plate. I Know much of the sound is Behind the car, but Damn! How does any idiot listen to such a screaming Drone? Nut finally turned off. :flipoff:
 
Worth every penny.
