Oh dear god, you just really showed your ass (and ignorance) there. Limiting straps can be used as a tool for tuning a suspension. Furthermore, guys who build alot of anti-squat into the suspension can use them to get the action they want from the suspension, without drooping the whole works every time they nail the throttle.

an end to the post i will limit the axle with a strap and it works good enough for me and does what i want is it correct?? To me it is. I like it and will keep it this way till i build something else Guess cause Andy told you that you dont need a strap that is what you think just make sure to redo your crossmember before you wheel it...

Wow, went with the 5th grade low blow. I just don't understand...back to JU I go.
 
We said in the first post that he rolled it out of the garage the day before we went this was a test run. The hostlity comes when someone like yourself offers remedies to suspension building when you know nothing more than wht you have read on pirate,ju, others or been told by Andy. It was included in the tape as a joke and just to rib Temp some. As for you coming across as master builder, please enlighten us to the extensive amount of chassis and fab work YOU have performed on your rig. One of the ONLY times I've ever seen it on the trail was at UNF and if I recall it was spitting rear springs out in the trail..hmm a limiting strap may have cured that, but I digress...you have a nice rig I won't deny that. You, however, have played no part in it's design or build other than writing the check.My point is Temp has a family, other responsibilites and not endless amounts of cash to fund a build. I'd bet he has less in his whole truck than you got in one axle, but he goes wheeling and enjoys it. You remind me of the assholes that show up at the golf course with $3000 worth of clubs and have all the right "lingo", but shot in the 100's, wait, that may not be a good analogy, they do at least show up at the course. :flipoff2: His rig doesn't break and you prove yourself to be a little wannabe know it all moron by not understanding if the guy can take his bone stock CJ7 in 3 months with nect to no money and put it on rockwells, 44's,full cage, 350hp motor,doubler, etc.. and take it wheeling all over the place, without major carnage...chances are he can fix his suspension to where it works properly after only one shake down run. See what I don't think you understand is a lot of people on this board like to build (and are forced to finacially) their own stuff and wheel it, the build and test being just as much fun as the "finished" product. I get the feeling from reading your posts on other boards that you are more of the " hey look what I got" mentality, and you could careless about wheeling it. But you love to pass out advice on shit you have no hands on experience with. We all obviously have an internet connection and are capable of reading pirate, we just don't all feel the need to see something and spout off like a freaking asshole...end of rant.

See thats the problem. I made one little comment and all hell broke loose. Ofcourse I'm going to come off as an ass when everyone else is being an ass to me. I'm also tired of people thinking I just drop my jeep off. It was well built before I even met Andy and there are others on this board that have helped me along the way. Kinda hard to work on a jeep in an apartment complex...but my house will be finished in a couple months and I'll finally have my own garage. My rig will be finished around the same time too....

Yep i read pirate too but guess what......I built my own chassis, motor, doubler blah blah blah so dont say squat to me asshat!Im another who cant afford to buy stuff so i build it .........is it redneck backwoods half assed?I think not.I dont know you but you sure know how to piss eveyone off.....Is it so hard to say "Nice rigs....looks like a good time?" and leave it at that?Maybe you could have rephrased the FUBARed suspension thing but guess its too late now.......... :flipoff2:

I find it amazing as well. I guess I'm an internet asshole and since most of you don't know me, everything is read in black and white. If I wasn't curious about Bigwoody's krawlers I would have never posted in the first place...but then I would have missed all the fun responding to everyones post. It was a no win situation. :beer:
