u ever driven one of those? They are quite possibly the slowest car I've ever ver driven....i do like the way they look tho.
they are quite possibly the slowest car ever made post 1970. One thing you may want to look into is a block heater, that car appears to have an early glow system which if the temp drops much below 40 degrees it isn't going to start, unless the motor/injectors/glow plugs are really fresh.
If anyone is interested I have a one this body style but with a 5cylinder turbo motor for $1700, also a 190d ..both good grease conversion cars

oh wow....

my first car was a 82 190D

man was it slow as shit.....still managed to get a speeding ticket in it though

A weekend in a 25 MPH zone?:D

Ouch! I bet that was expensive! (So it took you a whole week the get up that fast?):D I drove one of those and work one day and I thought there was something wrong with it. Guess it was a normal condition.

My parents had old TDs when I was in High school, I learned to drive on an '80 300 TD wagon.
Talk about SLOOOOOW... Perfect for 16y/o though, parents knew I wasn't gonna be hot-doggin' or chick-cruisin in it.
Also nice 'cause I could fit all my drums/accessories in tit and it wasn't any slower - torquey monster.
They sold that thing last year w/ 275k on the original 5 cyl motor.

I will never forget the day I started Driver's Ed (teh driving part). Car was a Tercel. Teacher sais Go, and I mashed the pedal like I always had in the TD. We cleared the parking lot in about 2 seconds and I can still hear the instructor screaming at me!

Now that's funny! A tercel smoking anything!

It runs the first 20 minutes it smoked like a SOB.. I have now driven it aroud the block a few times and it shifts good. looks like it needs brakes. I know what I will be doing this weekend...

Future VEGI-PWR update

I have rebuilt the brake sytem and replace the glow plugs. Installed new tires and have been driving it for about 10 days now. I gutted the interior in the process of trying to get rid of the must smell inside the car.

not quite sure since the odomerter does not work (another project)

20 gallons lasted me about 10 days...

using rough math
60 miles a day x 10 days = 600 miles / 20 gallons = 30 mpg appx. Again this is all an estimate.. I am workin on the odometer soon.. I would like to get some accurate figures.

Draft

Wen drive to work this past week I noticed a cool draft on my feet....Think I found the reason...
