Had this thing for about a year, bought it not running and looking really rough. Was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Still needs some tuning, been out of 2-strokes for a while now so trying to remember things. It runs pretty good now, still has a little hiccup off idle, but it is getting there. It's a Yamaha Blaster 200, .04 Wiseco piston, Boyesen reeds, Uni filter, rejetted, etc. Pretty standard Blaster stuff. It is fast and fun.
It looked like crap though. The previous owner beat the snot out of it and then painted it black and it was all peeling and various shades of black, purple, white, and silver. Also had stickers randomly all over it. My son loves it so I told him we would repaint it and he could pick out the colors. Yesterday we tore it down and sanded down everything, primed it, and ran to Home Depot to pick out some paint. He went with a General Lee orange with a gloss black frame on it. The pictures make it look better than it is, the plastics are very beat up, but looks 100% better. What can you say for a cheap rattle-can resto and a few hours. This is the first project that my son and I have actually completed in the new shop, so we had a great time. Just ordered a new seat for it and am going to get some black Yamaha decals for the tank cover, maybe a couple small stickers for the rear plastics.
