i am to lazy to read the pirate thread, but i remember reading it like two years ago this has been in the works for quite some time.

Have you wheeled the 2 trannies hard yet, and can the rear tranny hold up. i have a few trannies and would not mine diong this but i rather wait to see how it works.

who built the adapter budbuilt? how come nobody else is doing it? or making the adapter.

Havent wheeled them yet, its been sitting.

I built the adapter, details are in the pirate thread.

Budbuilt has the plans to do it and has built a prototype. Call him.

As to why no one else has done it, this was discussed in some depth in pirate. The concesus was that the big guys, marlin, allpro etc. would have problems selling other products, dual trannies allows virtual 5.71 gears, clockable t-case, 207:1. There offical answer was we dont thing its strong enough. We'll see.

Yea, someones gotta try it to see. I'm interested to see it work too. Keep it coming!

last summer he said he was going to do a dual tranny setup but i havn't talked to him since. i wonder if he went through with it.

I gave him that bed. Yeah, were buds, I think he's got a dual t-case setup now. He's building as we speak.

jason, i dont have your # anymore, pm me if you dont mind. the scoop is the yota in the picture has a blown motor now and has been strippeddown. i am currently building another(1980) and have built a rear frame for it because it was fubar'd built a flatbed and have installed dual cases in it. it is aprox 1-2 months from completion.-burke

rig is looking good CJ. as soon as i get a chance i'm going to have to come down there and really check it out.

Anytime, Its pretty much finished now. I took it to uwharrie this weekend and it did pretty well. Trannies rocked. I've got some final tinkering to do and It needs ifs finished paint. But its wheelable.

i got the stitches out of my hands today so let me know if you need some help tinkering or painting. i should be good to go.

I'm thinking maybe next sat finishing the painting, but I'm not sure yet. I've also got to change some bolts and some other small things, dif. leaks etc.

I could def. use a hand.

in a house, pretty good...i've wired stereo's etc. in vehicles....i guess i'd have to see....always willing to help and learn

I beat the everliving shit out of the dual tranny's in my rig. I went through 2 cabs in a year and never broke any trans. part or t-case part...

I hit the ledge at slickrock at 5K RPM dump and jumped most of it

did you do a drivetrain lift or was the clocking with the dual trannys enough to get the flat belly? i know you said you had to redo the floor pan but i wasnt sure if it was because of a drivetrain lift or just because of rust or something like that. if you did do a drivetrain lift how much trouble was it? im really considering dual trannys. ive got a high pinion elocker front and a taco elocker in the rear with 5.29s. i think i can sell those, buy another set with 4.10s and actually come out ahead even after buying the dual tranny adapter. plus gain back all the strength of 4.10s over 5.29s. ive already got the second tranny. might can even score a r151 with messed up syncros for cheap from my brother. not a big deal cause you dont need the syncros in the rear tranny right? really like your rig by the way. good to see some people still know how to cut fenders and make tires fit where they shouldnt.
