Ouch. Dang man, way to just cut right to it lol. So far all I've killed is time. I've had one of the best seasons I can remember. Yet I haven't killed a thing. I made a bad shot on a doe early in bow season, had the jitters worse than I have in a long time. Had my peep sight randomly twist a couple weeks later at full draw on a doe a couple weeks later. Passed a small 3 pt opening day of rifle, he came within 4 yards and I decided to let him go. If I'd had my bow, would've been a different story. I've had several close encounters, two being a very nice 8 pt on public land with him at 10 yards. I swear I could have set off a bomb and he wouldn't have stopped chasing the doe he was on.
I've gotten to hunt a few pieces of public and hunted with a few buddies. Learned a lot trying to get it done with a bow. I've killed a ton with rifle, and wanted to give myself a challenge. I guess I succeeded. I made peace when I started with the possibility of eating tag soup lol.
Still after it though. I've done things the hard way, only carried a rifle 4 or 5 times. Planning to go several times next week as I have a few PTO days to burn. Odd feeling getting skunked but having a good time doing it lol.
For anybody that cares, I post a lit of hunts (and radio stuff) on tiktok and quite a bit on YouTube. K1JSJ OUTDOORS.
Maybe I need a book to proofread while I'm in the stand...
