NC4X4 Hunting and Fishing

Sad part is she’s the one who puts out deer corn every day, and she will banish any of the family or friends from hunting on their property, but a hundred yards away her neighbor is gonna shoot it.
Nothing sad about that. She probably feeds them for entertainment and someone else will feed themselves by harvesting those deer. Thanks for fattening them up mom!

Attic buck stew. Might have over sold the "cooking on the fireplace" thing 😂. My oldest son has been worrying the snot out of us to cook something in there.

Helped a buddy with some work near the the state trout hatchery that got wiped out during Helene. It's back up and running but now i think they've got a full time resident eagle (missed the good picture of it walking the raceway) Also stopped to check out the "Ice Hole". It used to have a zip line across and be swimming hole way back in the day but It's never been deep as long as I've been fishing it...I think its returned to Ice Hole status.

Just a random post but if anyone has leftovers or finds an “insignificant” drop from a whitetail. I’d be interested a buying them (plus postage). I like to use them for chew toys for my puppies. LMK.

Tia.

I got a few if you want them? Don’t know how to get to you though? Got them out of the farmers truck today. 😂

Let me know about how many and I’d send some dollars to send them. Are they recent? Can’t really use old ones as they get brittle. Fresh is the best (inside of a year)

From this past year. Not this year. Still slick feeling. Haven’t started getting brittle yet. Pm me your address. I’ll try and get them out next week.

Not NC... but my old man sent me this link this morning.

"Deer, bear, cougar, oryx, ibex, javelina, Barbary sheep, pronghorn are over the counter sales.

Nonresident fees seem reasonable. Cougar is $290, Barbary sheep $360, Javelina $165, Pronghorn $270."

I'm gonna look into this. Those are good non-resident fees. As a comparison, f I recall correctly, I think Male Pronghorn was $400 in Wyoming and Female was $200ish.

Not sure if this should be here or motd? But it's accurate for me 😂. I have quite a few deer dead heads and random animal skulls in my shop, along with a boraxed road kill fox squirrel hide and a road kill alligator snapping turtle shell I spent way too much time cleaning out.

Let’s just say I love taxidermy.

Had a couple of good days of fishing at lake Marion (Santee). Manages to put over 400lbs of fish in the boat. Time for a fish fry.
