Ok, wanted to see who else out there was taking their diet serious this year?

Tis a shame if we are nc4XL instead of 4x4! :)

I am following Eat to Live, Dr Fuhrman. Essentially it is a 90% vegetable/fruit plan, 10% on unrefined items like rice, chicken, etc.

(You can go 100% vegan on this if desired...I DON'T desire that)

So far, down 10lbs and I haven't loss "big numbers" in my first week since I was in my late 20s. So this is pretty exciting for me....committed to DO this for 6 weeks and see what happens.


Have to admit, my body is like WTH?? But the salads actually taste great, all natural stuff, approx 50% of veggies coming in raw and 50% cooked, etc.

I'm in. I've already started on the no fast-food diet. Cut out all soda's. I weighed myself last night and I was at 239.7lbs which is the heaviest I've been in probably 5 years. I'm 5'10" and I'll be 25 years old on January 24th. I have been drinking nothing but water and the occasional sweet tea in the evenings. Using Excedrin Migraine for now to control headaches due to lack of caffeine. I'd love to lose about 40 lbs or about 2 or 3 pant sizes. All my fat seems to be stored around my belly/waist. Too much beer earlier in life and not enough exercise, I guess :lol:. Not really sure of an exercise routine yet. I have a treadmill, elliptical, and heavy bag as well as some light dumbells. Guess I need to put them to good use.

I have just been starting this as well.
Started about two weeks ago at 279.
6'-5" tall.
down to 272 as of yesterday morning.
target weight is probably around 215-220, like i was for a while in college!i would be happy to get around 235 and stay though.
My diet so far has been pretty simple. eat less.
cooking a lot more, watching the calories of stuff i cook. when i do still eat out, i will try to eat as healthy as possible, IE grilled chicken sandwich, no fries or other fatty side dishes.

I'm going to have to lose some weight cause my cholesterol was almost 300 12/07 and haven't been back to the doc. I'm going to weigh later and let yall know. I know I need to lose around 30 lbs. The bad thing is a brand new Bojangles just opened up about 200 yards from my back door. Is there any such thing as a Bojangles diedt? (that typo was by mistake but fitting so I left it.)

been running/hitting the gym and eating alot less latley for about a week. as of today at 245 ...i started at 6'4 250 and looking to get around 220-215.

hard to make any sort of a meal for that kinda money.
Two meals out of a 12" sub! I'm 5' 11" and 165lbs and a 12" Spicy Italian sub is one meal. I'm also one of those people that only really eats once a day. The rest of the day I live off of coffee and Sundrop.

Brett, you know how big of a dude I am. I have always ate a 12" sub as only one meal, hence why i'm fat.
I have a feeling i could eat 2-3 12" spicy italian subs in one sitting, no problem(not saying i wouldn't feel like total shit when i got done).

This is a diet thread...., so half of one is plenty, as much as i want to eat the other half....
 
I started the day after labor day. 242 then, 209 right now (and I took 2 weeks off from the diet and ate whatever I wanted to over Christmas holidays. Gonna stop at 190.

I'm doing the South Beach diet. Super-easy, and you don't go hungry at all. No counting, charts, etc.

Yeah, I just started this week trying to eat better.

Starting Weight: 245lbs on 1/2/09
Height: 5'10"
Goal: 200-210lbs

Diet: "Modified" Atkins;
First week try and eat as little carbs as can.
Second week start bringing in "good" carbs (fruits, wheat bread ect.)
Exercise: Walking/Jogging and trying to get in the gym at least 3 days a week

I'm in need of diet not because I'm overweight, but because I eat nothing but crap. Currently I'm 6'0" 130lbs. My schedule is so bad that I have to eat poorly if I want to eat. Fast food is pretty much all I eat, so I know my cholesterol is through the roof. I have family history of horrible cholesterol too.
 
Mine:

6'2" 300 lbs.

Trying to get down to 250. Im am very broad shouldered and do not have a lot of loose skin or hanging fat etc. My doctor mentioned to me that at 250 I would be ripped up.

I work out with the P90X system. Its not bull shit like most people think it is. I have had good results out of it the first time I did it.

Foods: Chicken and Veggies most of the time. Tryign to cut out all Fast Food.
 
I'm done..just trying to maintain now...I started at 6'3" 248lbs about 9 months ago...dropped down as low as 205lbs...wife told me I looked like I had the HIV...so I got back to 220.
 
6'7" @ 295-lbs & would like to hit 275-lbs....drinking more water & less (to none) mountain dew & fast food. I'm trying smaller portions (no more single serving large pizzas, etc.) also - biggest problem is that I hate chicken & fish.

Last two years I've been maintaining. I set a goal of 225lbs,
6'3" and 245 now.
I got down to a low of 235. For those that have known me for a while, when I moved down here I was ~300-310.
Mostly cut out soda, try eating "good lunches" instead of Bojangles etc.
Really trying with salad etc, to get to 225 this year.
My knees just can't take being above 250. They got to be swelling after every day at work.

(this will be my 10yr reunion, also what I weighed at the time)

Diet: eating better, smaller portions...

Exercise plan includes, working out in the morning (up at 4), and running in the evening (minimum a mile for now)
