All I know is copied below; I don't completely understand what is required, but it doesn't look terribly difficult. Since I have no family in North Carolina, I'm reaching out to my friends here on nc4x4. For now, I need one name and address to send into his class, then my son will send his packet out to you from the school. I guess you receive it, send a cool postcard that you provide to his school, write a little something about your own city in the packet, then forward it to someone else. That someone else would be the next volunteer from this thread. Post up if you're interested, be sure to keep name/addresses private via IM's.
Thanks for your help, this could be really cool!...and if this works out, I have 2 more third graders who will need help next year
Fourth Grade Travelogs
As part of the fourth grade social studies curriculum, students will take part in a Travelog project. Students will send a Travelog to a family member or friend who lives in North Carolina. That person will send a postcard to the student at school. The person will then write about their city in the log and mail the log on to someone else in North Carolina. This process continues throughout the school year with the final log mailed back to the student by the end of the school year. Students in the past have enjoyed receiving postcards! Any postcards received will be displayed in the classrooms and returned to students at the end of the year. This project requires 3 First Class US Postage Stamps or "forever" stamps and the name and address of someone who lives in North Carolina to first receive the Travelog.

Please send in the 3 First Class or "forever" US Postage stamps by Wednesday, September 3, 2014 and the completed form below.
Thank you for your help in this exciting project!

Is ^ that so I can PM Tony our address? :flipoff2:

PM sent... guess I should start looking for postcards. Does it need to be a 'Raleigh' themed one?

I'm betting one of the museum stores would be a good place to start.

the sheet the teacher sent home doesnt explicity state the theme of the postcard, that would be up to the sender. Just keep in mind this will be hanging in a 4th grade classroom all year, then at the end of year he'll bring it home to cherish for life.

so in other words, something w/ pics of scantily clan women to keep the boys occupied in class...
that'll teach them to let other people make decisions...

I'd help but Im in SC.

I can give you the NC office address?
Shawn any chance we can get an NC4x4 Postcard?

I guess the teachers and admins might prefer NC themed postcards, but something from Belize would be cool too, it's educational for sure. I don't see any harm with a craft beer label from NC. Pretty sure scantily clad or clans women wouldn't fly though.

And Ron, back when Cyd was asking about Raleigh postcards, I was thinking she could have just put an NC4x4 sticker on a card, but Shawn suggested a museum...that sounded good too, I didn't want to stifle their creativity.
If you want to send it thru your NC office address, that would be great.
