License plate question

I am looking to purchase a new 4x4 only to use off-road. I am planning on trailering it everywhere i go and never driving it on a public road.

My question is will i need to register it and have insurance and a license plate and all that even though the tires will never hit pavement? Will i be able to treat it just like an ATV?

And i'm new to this and don't know how to post a new thread so....

I would just go to the DMV and register it under your name (trandser title). They won't need proof of insurance or an inspection if you tell them you just want a title name change. This way you are safe with everything under your name and if you ever want to put on the road all you have to do is go get an inspection and get some insurance. You will have to pay property taxes either way.

Hello all, checking-in, I am pretty much a newbie and fairly new to the area.
Driving a built CJ, capable trail rig, GM drive train, MTRs, coilovers, lockers… more mods/accessories to be come.
Planning on heading to URE this coming weekend (12/5) for the first time before the seasonal closure, maybe meet some people from the board out there.
I am looking to get involved with a club convenient to Mooresville. Any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to provide info. Thanks.

Welcome aboard Yellow, Glad to see another CJ. You will find this to be a great place to talk wheel-in and parts. You just missed the flats in Marion yesterday but with the turn out I'm sure it will happen again.

Hi, I'm Susan. I'm new to the board from Reidsville, NC. My husband, James, has been on the board for quite some time. We're Sammy fans. Currently own 3 (2 that run) and 1 tub waiting to be picked up that we traded for a fold down windshield. I believe that all are '87s. The daily driver is a tin top with a factory sunroof and modified motor and the one we take to Zuwharrie is a rag top on 33's. I know it has lowered gears, but this is my husbands rig so I'm not sure of the specs. My toy is waiting on me in the back of the shop. Before it was parked it had a beutiful new blue paint job and the apolstery was redone and it's sitting on 31s. But my husband just didn't like the way it sounded, so until we can replace the motor it will just sit there. Maybe it will be ready by Spring Uwharrie. Listen, I need your help. Being new to the site, I need to know just where to go to post some tote bags that I have made to sell for four wheel drive enthusiast. I initially made them to sell at the fall Zuwharrie but I still have right many left and they're only $25 delivered. They'll make great Christmas presents for the Female Zu enthusiast. I already have them listed on the Zuwharrie board, but Christmas is coming quickly and I'm really trying to advertise. It's very nice to meet you guys and thank you in advance for your help.

Do you have any pics of the tote bags? My daughter is in to a bag for every day.lol pm the pics if you have any
