New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

Howdy, first time on this site, well... certainly not first time, but first post anyhow. I live in Fallston (suburb of lawndale wich is a suburb of shelby) I have a stock 96' ZJ that i built from two ZJ's for $700 and is my semi-daily driver. I used to have an 88' XJ, but fire consumed it to the point where it wasnt worth fixing. :flipoff2: It was only $180 anyhow.
My DD is an 82 madza b2200 diesel.
I have an 84 mazda b2200 diesel turbo project
and a 95' full size bronco which is soon to be torn apart.
I have several trails on the family property, which I have now grown tired of and Im going to start going out and about to see where I can wheel, in a fairly stock veichle anyway.
Just here for community and to share and learn from fellow offroaders in NC.

Come up to the Flats on the 17th of Sept. It will be a great time with a bunch of people, There are trails you can run and places for you to watch the harder stuff.

Link to the post about the Open Invite to the Flats, Its a private Club wheeling area that is opened up a couple times a year.

Have you checked out Lake Houser west of Boiling Springs?

Accually yeah, me my zj and a buddy and his xj went up there, but it was raining good by the time i got there, im running street tires ,and he only has wranglers, so we decided to wait for a better (dry) weekend. From pic Ive seen there's tons of mud, and I am no longer a fan of mud. :shaking: Headed up to a friend's private property in Marion tomorrow. Should be a promising trip.

hey new to the board thought i would do the intro thing. based between greenville and rocky mount nc. rocking an 86 ram with body and suspension lift. not exactly what i wanted to start as a wheeling project but its hard to argue with a good running 4x4 with thirty fives for $400 bucks. anyways looking forward to getting some info and maybe a ride or two in. o i manage a salvage yard for a living so if anyone has some hard to find OEM parts needed drop me a line, im more than happy to help.

Hi!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Ben, I live in Denver NC. Recently purchased a rig from VA after years of wanting one. I picked up a 95 Wrangler that is pretty ready to go.

Problem is, I am new to everything, and I need to meet some locals and get started, Any volunteers :)

I've heard something about Amity Church Rd. in the area being somewhat of a playground, Anyone have some contact information?

Welcome, Ben!

There are lots of folks from down your way... there are also a few open rides and other events coming up Labor Day weekend and later in September at The Flats and at Gulches. You can check the Calendar of Events here.

You can also check out the clubs. 4x4Everyone is an example of one which is geared toward family wheeling and teaching drivers who are new to off-roading.

Hi Ben, welcome to the board.

Your welcome to ride along with us, 4X4Everyone, anytime.
We have a ride at Uwharrie National Forrest over labor day if you'd like to come.
See ya on the trails.:driver:

Hey everyone! Thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself.
My name is Tim, I'm 17 and I live in Winston-Salem. I drive a '08 Wrangler Sahara. I've owned it for about 3 months now and absolutely love it. I love to off-road but seeing as I have no job, gas money comes at an expense for me.
My Jeep is stock except for the Bestop Supertop. Sold my dirtbike in order to get that and am pleased with it.
Biggest mods I want made to my Jeep right now is a new AEV bumper w/ Warn winch, BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires, and auxiliary lights.
I hope to meet a lot of local people here and attend some meet and greets soon!

Welcome to the board, look forward to meeting you at the next M&G.

ugh THORNTURDS haha you do need help
not far from ya and like others said there are plenty of us around the denver area. As far as legal wheeling the farm is really the only place.

And if you wanna see what that jeeps got and how bad the tires suck. . .

I drive a pavement puppy, its an 1984 Scrambler. I drove a modified CJ7 for 10 years (wish I still had it), this jeep I'm going for stock. Like all Jeeps it's a work in progress.
