New to NC4x4. I'm from Atlanta, GA and have spent a lot of time over on MUD & ExPo. Started reading about ECORS and wound up here. I typically hang out with guys from N. GA and Upstate SC, and typically wheel in NC or TN. I've only been wheeling for about 5 1/2 years, but I was co-chair for GSMTR the last two years.

We've started building up my wife's '86 Grand Wagoneer a couple years ago too (not just me, she turns wrenches and this is her build). She's running 33" BFG's, 4" lift, NP 208 swapped in. And we completed a small block Chevy Vortec engine swap last spring. Still running the TF727 for now, but planning to go 700r4 pretty soon.

[edit] Doh! forgot pics! Both from Golden Mtn Park.

Latest Newbie

Hey everyone just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm about to start getting into 4wheeling so I thought I'd look up some local info and this seemed like a great place to start. I don't have a truck yet (owned a couple jeeps, in the market for a toyota pickup) but I have a budget and the cash to start. See you guys on the trails soon enough!

Hey i am new to the forum, and have viewed this site numerous times and have finally joined!

Newest new-guy here. Got my first Jeep this summer, a 1998 TJ we call "Sparky." Has most of what I wanted to do to it as a beginner (lift, big tires) and a whole lot more. Glad to be a part of the community, and hope to learn and share with fellow NC Jeepers!

New to NC and NC4x4

Hello All,

I am new to NC. Just moved up here from Florida. I would love to know of some nice trails in the Durham area. I have a Bobbed Deuce and a Jeep YJ. The Deuce is still in Florida (wife is not a big fan). I will be bringing it up in the spring. Anyone intrested in it feel free to PM me.

Thanks

Hello everyone!

They call me PackRat. I have an 86 4Runner that I'm working on! Keeping it stock for now? It was gave to me by a good friend! And would like any advice ya'll can give me on it? Thankyou

Looking at getting back in to wheeling, I've been out of it for several years. Currently deciding on if I would rather build from "stock" or buy something that's already had some of my to-do list done. That, and trying to figure out how the garage/driveway situation would work out - I'm thinking 60s, 37-42" tires, comp cut, coilovers, but still street legal. My resume, so to speak:

'99WJ Limited with Clayton's Longarms, 10" of lift, and 35s, among other things

'95 YJ with 4.11s, 4:1 low, SOA, 33s, etc

Hey everyone, just recently joined the forum to find people to wheel with and make some new friends. Just about a year ago i got a jeep as my first vehicle. Had to put up a strong fight with my parents to get one but finally got one. Its a 98TJ thats mainly stock. Now my parents love jeeps and my dad recently bought a new JK and my moms out looking for a YJ. Ive been to uwharrie a couple times and was amazed by what a jeep can do.

Welcome! Yep, a stock-ish 98 TJ can do amazing things at URE for sure (that's what we have now, too!). Glad to hear it's becoming a family affair, too! You should all come out the the Jamboree the first weekend of the season (March 30)!

Hey my name's Caleb and I have two jeeps (93' & 96') and a 2000 Ford Ranger. The 93 is stock and the 96 has a 4 in rough country lift and a few other upgrades. My Ranger has a 3 in body lift with 33x12.50x15 adventuro mud terrains on black rims. I'm new to the site and I'm just introducing myself. Thanks

Yeah it's about all dried up around here, too. I'm down in Chatham County
