Alright, so Brown Mountain was a bit of a let down, but, not because of the difficulty or number of trails. But, I guess from the hurricane last year, one of the obstacles washed pretty bad turning it into an 8 foot vertical rock wall. The guys with sxs were turning around, and I knew my long wheelbase wouldn't let me make the entrance dip, or the crest without being hung up.
The trail up until that point was fun, but it sucks not being able to complete it.
We're currently on a site on 105 and this place makes the trip worth it.View attachment 445372View attachment 445373View attachment 445374
Pic may be deceiving, but if the SXS guys were turning around because of that, I’m sad for them.

With that said, Old 105 and Linville is always a win. Did you come in from the north end or the south end? Wiseman’s view at sunrise is worth getting up early for. This was in March, but the sun should be in a similar position this time of year to rise right between Table Rock and Hawksbill.

the pic doesn't do it justice, it's a lot steeper than the pic shows. And being my first time out in this truck, and on a trail for the first time in 8 years solo with no spotter or winch, I wasn't gonna try.

But, yea, the sunrise this morning was great! We're about to hike hawkbill, have lunch up there, then head home. We didn't realize coming here was so close, hawkbill is probably our favorite hike.

Hawksbill is my second favorite hike up there. Best one is the Chimneys, because its such an easy stroll from the Table Rock parking lot to absolutely breathtaking views. But Table Rock parking lot road is still closed, so its currently a pretty long hike to start the hike haha.
