Hey guys I am trying to get my website running with lots of traffic but I need post to attract more people. I know that most of the stuff you want to sell here is Jeep related, but if you would not mind could you also cross post your junk here http://www.classifieds10000.com . It is all free and you would be helping a fellow 4x4er

With your guys help I hope to create a great place to for use to buy/sell everything.

I do believe in my personal opinion. The prices are high especially since it new, and for the most part, empty.
 
Yeah, I think the price is a little jacked up. Since you can go to any forum for free and post and get 1000s of views instead of a few on that forum. May take a while but I don't see a phpbb or any other forum turning into a craigs list anytime soon. (and that is free too)

I agree but This is not a forum Site even though it is using forum software.
The Idea behide this site is the free Classifieds Section Just like Craigs list. but the problem with craigs list is that you can only search loacal listing. I may change some things with the pricing and allow pics in the free section I just have to figure out what exactly I will do.

I thank you guys for your input.

No offense intended, but I've done a bit of web work, and all I got to say is if you want it to get off the ground, you've got to at least work on the spelling and grammar on the site.
 
About 4-5 years ago when php got "big" (maybe not that long) everyone tried these for sale bb's. (including me)
They just don't work for some reason. People go to Real BB's like this one (nc4x4) when looking for stuff. BBs for are chat, to share stories and to meet friends. People dont go to bb's for the sole purpose to sell something. With no other type of chat on the BB it will not...(how to put this nicely)......make money, IMHO of course.

the other reason is people dont want to pay for something that is free on every other bb. if it were completely free all the way around and it had a common interest like 4x4s.

This I think would work.

make a forum like the one mentioned in this thread. But make it offroad based. Then make rules that all come done to one thing. YOU DONT GET SCREWED. You would have to make every seller agree to adhere to your rules. In other words if I deal went bad the owner of forum admin would make a decision to give money back or return products etc. ONly then would people think, "hmm, that would be a safe place to buy. I will try that. Then take a % or something only when stuff sales. I have thought about something like this but with a lot more kinks worked out. Bottom like. ITS BEEN DONE AND IT IS CALLED EBAY. DONE!
