Well I just finished the paintjob on my Scout. I think it turned out good for shooting it myself in my driveway. This is what it looked like when I picked it up. It was flat black brush painted.
I sanded the whole thing down with 60 grit followed by 120 then primed with Rustoleum and a Harbor Freight HVLP gun. I laid 3 coats of primer and sanded with 320.
The paint is Valspar tractor enamel with hardener in Allis Chalmers orange. The black is Rustoleum gloss black. I laid three coats of paint.
I'm happy with the results. It has some orange peel and a few bugs, but still looks way better than it did. I'll follow up with a buffing and wax when it is fully cured. The wheels are still orange, but I'm going to paint them black this weekend. The interior will be herculined sometime down the road.
