New thread.........right now

Just got done spreading a load of gravel for my uncle at his lake house. Figured I would take advantage of his pier and enjoy a cold beverage before I leave.

Jeebus it is warm today. Rode the Polaris around with my grandson and was straight up routed by deer flies. I am getting some of those sticky things to put on a hat.

Currently enjoying a cold drink in the cool AC.

Permethrin. Worth every penny. Coat your hat and everything in it.

I ordered a 6 pack of head nets to go over my hat a few days ago for when I’m in the woods for an extended time.

I don’t ever remember them being this bad.

(not that it really matters..but)
Does that REPEL or just mask you and make you less visible to insects?
It's an insecticide, it actually kils them in enough of a dose. As a clothing treatment they avoid it and it they land on it it hurts them. It won't stop a bug from landing on you, but in swarms after a few have figued it out, due to their phermone communication word gets out quickly. My experience is that they just kind of leave you more alone.
So no, not a repellant per se. But as a treatment it's way easier than most sprays, or cancer from DEET etc. Super convenient. Treat your hat once, its good for a couple of washings. And if youre like most guys that rarely actually wash their hat, it's good even longer ;-)

"Terry" was caught last night. Needless to say he was not very happy about it. We relocated him about 5 miles, as the crow flies, from the house.
So I forgot to mention something that I felt everyone should know about about. My wife reminded me of it last night. Once Terry was caught, the next morning my son took my wife's phone and looked up pictures of raccoons. He then went out and proceeded to ask Terry if he knew any of them

treat your boots, socks.pants etc. and it will keep ticks and chiggers off you too.

I bought this stuff, it is supposed to be excellent tick repellent. It was universally recommended on an outdoor site.
