Taking bets on whether they are installed before the G2G though

Got the Notch Customs X-Max flares fit up and some holes punched in the body today. Wife said they look like styrofoam haha!

A can of Rustoleum Rust Reformer took care of that. I love the way this paint lays down.

Still a lot of trimming, tucking, and welding to do, but the right side is hung and looks much better to my eye.

I really disliked the bulge at the back of the front flares so that is much improved with these flares.

Gained about 2” of vertical clearance too. Now I need 35’s! But overall I’m super pleased with them. :D

Overall not too bad. Most of it is self explanatory.

Seats: Some kind of seats with rear headrests. Wifey doesn’t want me to take the kids on the road without rear headrests. And I wouldn’t mind a fancy set of seats out of a newer Commander/Liberty/Grand Churky that I could hotwire some cooled seats in the front. Just not sure how well that would work in the back. If anybody happens to have a set for cheap, I’m interested. Otherwise it’ll probably be a set of ZJ or maybe WJ seats.
Making some progress. Next step is shocks. Who has the hookup on Old Man Emu or Bilstein?

54 minutes…really waited it out there.
Probably more like 45 minutes from post to completion of transaction haha. I just know that if I don’t make a decision now I’ll rescind into paralysis through analysis and next thing you know it will be October and I’ll be shockless and hurrying to get the rusted bolts out before the G2G. Plus I had already measured all the collapsed lengths and looked everything up on OME and Bilsteins websites and figured out what would work and what wouldn’t.

Just send it bud!

That’s what I did last year and that’s why my rear shocks leak more oil than the 30 year old 4.0 rear main seal!
What shocks did you order? I’ve got some 12” on the shelf that I never ran.

Stock length Bilstein 4600's for the rear (7.5" travel) and 3-4" lift Bilstein 5100's for the front (10" travel). I really wanted to go with the 5100's on all 4 corners, but the rear shock mounts are moved up for clearance and they didn't offer a short enough 5100 that was valved for an XJ, so I would have had to suffer through less than 3" of uptravel. I'd much rather them topout than bottom out like the too long ones I have on there now.

Have you thought about acos system instead of coil spacers so you can level it out good?

Nah, now that I have the "good" flares on there, the front doesn't need any more spacer. Both ends have about 4-4.5" of uptravel and it sits right enough.

Check that off the list then brother!
I didn't figure anyone actually read my posts that closely. I'm impressed!

So, I just realized I forgot to order rear bumpstops when I ordered shocks, which is totally fine because Rockauto only had 1 option, and now I dug around a bit to see what the options are.

DPG Offroad has these bumpstop plates

But these SumoSprings look even more ideal:

Anybody got any experience with either or some other input of value?
