So, it looks like we're going to be moving.
No, please, stop crying (cheering).
I'm taking a fellowship position at the ARL at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds facility, Aberdeen, MD.

Who has good info on the area? Good/bad places to live, info on schools, etc? Dosn't look like there's much to Aberdeen, how about Bel Air or other nearby towns?
Debating renting vs buying etc.

More importantly - good Maryland-based 4x4 sites?

We love NC, but this is a good change for the family and awesome job.

(Oh and BTW I'll still be here ifor the URE 4x4Cross so you guys will still have to eat my dust :driver:)

EDIT - that's "Northeast"... not "as far north as is possible" lol

I will help you save some hauling/moving problems. Dont forget the triple your money back guarantee on the 30xj!

Anyways, good luck with your future endeavors, my friend.

Prob late June. Don't have the definite start date for the position yet, prob July 1st.

Check with TTORA. If you can sift through some BS you`ll usually get some pretty straight answers on a few good areas to live.

Look into commuting from Del. Cheaper to live there (less taxes), and not all that far.

Bel Air is nice. Old bedroom community, was one of the first pushes towards a "planned community" but does not feel or look like it now.

Anything south and west of Joppatown is gonna be very blue collar/industrial, schools will not be that good. Havre De Grace is nice, lots of "semi-affordable" homes on the water. Connowingo, Dublin, Oakwood, all nice horse towns, Will likely have some "affordable" houses out in the country.

I95 sucks.

Clubs,
Baltimore 4 Wheelers Big group, family oriented.
Off Camber Crawlers Good group, has a rowdy side.
Maryland Rock Raiders Mostly asshats
Madness and Mayhem (not really a club, bunch of friends that wheel together)
Delaware Jeep Association
You will be about 2 hours from Rausch Creek off road park, 4 hours from the Pine Barrens

Thanks, that's some useful info!
We were already kind of thinking about the Bel Air area. I'll give Deleware some thought.. although it looks like that might make it a bit of a hike, since there's only 1 entrance into the base (via 40 or 95), which is on the western side of the bay.

Wow, didn't realize Rauch Creek was so close. By Google it looks like a trek, but I guess that can be deceiving
