OFF ROAD PARK OPENING NEAR HICKORY NC

I was on the phone with our insurance company today. While I was talking to them I asked about private 4x4 parks and they do handle those WITHOUT fire and ems on-duty requirements.
You will need a detailed execution plan, safety plan, etc., but its all typical stuff they deal with all the time and can walk you through their requirements. :)
They insure people in all 50 states, so you wouldn't have to fight with a local agent to find an underwriter that is licensed in NC for your type of operation (I've been through all of this already...). This was key with us as we are running events in multiple states. You, not much of an issue but they are licensed for insuring in NC.

Yeah as long as they dont see pictures of jeeps flying over the heads of spectators, our insurance co. is pretty cool...

Some things do freak them out however.

Ah good so Toyotas will be okay then?

awsome! thanks for the insurance info "rockcity" i will be contacting you this weekend if that is still ok, or one of my partners may, we are looking into the water issue too. we are thinking of an 8 ft tall colvert that way it is DOT approved and will withstand the weight of the heavier rigs, and keep the epa out of the mix. it is also the cheapest solution we have found so far.

IF you get this thing going, please feel free to contact me via pm to assist in free labor. I love the fact that someone is interested in something like this in my back yard!

if you need to discuss water quality standards let me know. NC is getting tighter and you need to make sure you do everything in your power to prevent runoff from your site. Sediment basins are the best for collecting large amounts. If the river runs through it then I would dedicate a portion of the land on both sides to runoff prevention. it sounds like a PITA and it is but you might want to take some independent sampling of the water upstream as it enters the property. That way it cannot be all contributed to you.

we have got the insurance worked out and found a deal that works well and is reasonable since i also have my contract insurance for my other business under them. will continue to keep you updated.

Sounds good. Hope it works out. And don't hesitate to contact Nick "orangecherokee" about the water issues, he knows what he's talking about.

^^^^ Agreed. The place I work at got tagged for being over the "non soluble solids" limit on thier storm water runoff. The state won't tell you what those solids are so you can actually fix the root cause of the problem, they just tell you to fix it or they'll shut you down if you fail the next test. After having EH&S up a certain orifice with no proof of what the non soluble solids I can tell you it wasn't fun.

This is a great thing that you aredoing, and so close to home, i am willing to volunteer to help with labor or however i could, you have my support

I'm with the no bikes or atv's...If more land, I might consider it. Just wondering about the clutter..But it's your decision buddy..Glad to hear you are wanting to do this...Another local would be very nice...Good Luck...

its been a while since i have been on here, we are still working on the entire concept and making it happen, things like this take time and we will continue to work until we make it happen. its hard to run a business and try and start another one on the side as a hobby, but we are making progress each week and getting closer to making this a done deal we have the land, the inusrance, the ideas and most of the approval that we need. so we will see where it goes will keep you guys updated.
